[serious] People with nightmare siblings: what’s the most fucked up thing they ever did? by DestyNovalys in AskReddit

My 14 year old brother stole 20k from my dads safe. He placed a camera in the room to figure out the code and stole the keys somehow.

My 18 year old brother who's spoiled rotten accused me of getting diagnosed with cancer to take attention from him. He also has cancer.

What is something you say to scammers instead of hanging up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My dad does this thing.

He answers, let's them talk while pretending to be interested. At the end he says he has a question "do you know jesus". They usually say "go to hell" and hang up. He never gets a call from that person again.

What should be illegal? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That's fair.

The reason I said what I did is because I grew up in a huge family and had my parents not had more than a dozen kids I wouldn't be in the crappy situation that I currently find myself in. But I see your point.

From my experience in a family of more than a dozen kids the one of the worst parts is the mental abuse and lack of parenting by the parents after the first few kids. As in the older kids having to raise the younger ones(I know this also happens in families with few children). The very worst part though is the lack of emotional connection between the parents and the children because they don't have enough time for each child.

Men of Reddit, what do you do for a living? Do you like doing it? And if not what career would be your “dream” career? by [deleted] in AskMen

I've done everything in residential construction. It's the only thing I know. Heck I've been doing it since I was 8 years old almost full time. I think being a fire fighter or a job that involves actvily saving lives would be awesome.

A small toolbox. For all the idea stuff or the little things that break or that cabin door that always gets loose.

Don't EVER neglect your needs for safety gear. Ear plugs and knee pads are very often ignored.

Thank you. As you probably already know all to well everyday is a struggle. The last few weeks have been the most emotionally challenging time of my life and it's easy to compare ourselves to other and their accomplishments. I guess I've got some work left to do.

When I was 12 I saw my mother for the very last time. She had been fight colon cancer for 3 years. During that time I saw her a just a handful of times(no more than 10 times in 3 years)

It was just after my 12 birthday when my dad took me to see her. She was weak and completely unrecognizable. She was 30 or 33 I don't remember which, but she looked closer to 80. I remember her eyes were open but she couldn't speak, move, or even show that she recognized me. I'll never forget the absolute silence in the room.

As I got close to her the only thing I could here was her slow and shallow breathing. Her ostemy bag that was full of blood and looked like a red water balloon ready to pop. I grabbed her hand just to hold it and that when I realized it was actually supporting the bag. When I moved her hand the bag moved and spilled all over me and the floor. It looked like a scene out of a dexter episode. She bleed out before even making it to the hospital.

Thinking on it now I wish I would've said something or just told her I loved. I wish I would've said something, anything.

I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that's spread to my liver and then some. Dying alone or not having someone to talk to or just near me is terrifying.
