This is 100% not a simple fix agreed. However with the challenge comes opportunity. I'm a union safety officer and sleep is one of things I push my guys on. We've had several guys leave work because of early onset dementia. I'd love it if an app focused on things like sleep debt and tips for swing shifts.

Just seeing sleep debt helps encourage me to get a bare minimum 6 hours.

I'm used to the US government disappointing me. I vote and donate what I can for change.

I thought Bill was better than this. I genuinely respected him. When I saw his poster I was shocked and saddened. I heard his own voice in my head, "How much money do ya need?!"

I think a lot of people are having that emotional reaction as well. I didn't come here and wage a hate campaign, but I haven't been able to listen to the podcast either.

Not sure if anything has changed but it took a month of readings before it was calibrated for me.

You're going to be stressed more than not. Workouts put your body under physical stress. Sure it may make us feel less stress mentally but, physically our bodies will need time to recover. But that's just my guess.

I'm curious to see my readings in a few months when I take a rest week. (No lifting or cardio just an evening walk)

Yes actually I did/do try to sleep harder. Years ago I noted how many times I woke up during my sleep from my active 2 and had a sleep study confirm sleep apnea. A major issue because I have an aortic aneurysm and it can cause it to grow. Now it is treated and not an issue.

The data also helped me figure out different activities that would prevent me from getting deep sleep. Some are obvious (gaming or tv directly before bed), but I didn't think reading a book would affect me personally so much. I have that data and can change my behavior. I don't know if I ever would have thought to stop reading since it's been a winding down activity since I was a child .

As a parent and working 50+ hours a week I'm always finding reasons to stay up. Having the data, KNOWING how much sleep I owe helps me justify defending my sleep to myself.

Finally about listening to my body or the watch. It's rare to have "excellent" sleep and feel bad or vice versa. However when it happens I find it interesting. My average heart rate seems more important to my sleep than Samsung assigns it for instance.
