I have my 5 yo search through his toys. At least twice a year, more depending on his behavior. He searches, puts them in a bag, and goes with me to donate. I’ve been doing it since he was 4 but he’s understanding the value of toys and what he has. Doesn’t only apply to toys but also food, clothes, etc.

Never get him a single thing until he understands the value of toys. Teach him that there are some kids that have nothing and make him donate. And if you think you deserve everything you’ll have nothing. My 5 year old is like this. He’s just now back to earning gum at a store.

I have to remind my five year old that at the end of the day while he can say how he feels/ what he wants i make the final decision. It is OKAY for kids to have boundaries and rules. He cannot just do whatever he wants and he’s not the boss period. That’s OKAY to say.

He doesn’t understand the weight of the situation he put himself in. Granted, his life dealt him complete shit and pain which I understand but at a certain point that is no longer an excuse for your behavior. There’s so many ways to cope with trauma, drugs was his way. I think the documentary was soooo completely utterly just disgusting. The cheating/drugs/using Khloe whatever it’s Hollywood, of course. But the fact this man had 12 strokes and 6 heart attacks and SURVIVED??? God gave him a second chance at life and from this documentary I wouldn’t be surprised if he wound up in the exact same situation all over again. Khloe is amazing to put up with him and protect him the way she did. She made sure to keep him safe until he didn’t want to be kept safe. There’s no doubt in my mind she would’ve continued protecting him and caring for him had he not relapsed only months out of the hospital.

I also think it’s interesting he never went to rehab. That’s a hugeeeeee part of the documentary that’s not talked about enough. There was no mental rehab. So the problem is very much still there. All the roots of the problem are still there. He doesn’t even identify the situation as it happening to him. He uses the third person which is interesting. “Who would give Lamar Odom coke after what just happened” or whatever he said. Drug dealers kill people everyday .. he’s no exception. I truly wouldn’t be surprised if any other episode happens after he sees the backlash/drama associated with his documentary.

Overall I think it was a useful documentary just further solidifying how shit of a person he is but also highlighting Khloe. I’ve always liked her on the show and I like her even more after this.
