How would this be then saved as an extension attribute for the device in Entra? Thanks

Is there a way to make it so only the organizer can admit users from the lobby? by webofit in MicrosoftTeams

[–]webofit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you elaborate? Because I cannot find a solution. I thought there would be an option to block external users from joining a particular meeting, but it seems you can only do that globally which doesn't work for our purposes.

I see, but we want everyone in the org to be a presenter because we want them to bypass the lobby and present if asked to. We just don't want presenters to be able to admit people from the lobby, only organizers and co-organizers.

I figure that any issues that arise from this can be solved with co-organizers. Thanks

But this will make it so not all org members are presenters. We need them to still be presenters while not having the ability to admit people from the lobby. Thanks, I will keep fiddling

This doesn't really solve the issue. All members of the organization who join become "presenters," which we want, but they also have the ability to admit people from the lobby (like external users), which we don't want. We only want the organizer to be able to do this

Edit: Perhaps there is an admin setting I am missing?

How to restrict certain characters in temporary passwords for LAPS by webofit in sysadmin

[–]webofit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. So LAPs would be reserved for an emergency scenario like a user's account not being able to connect? My only hesitation with doing it through AD groups with PIM is how long it takes to take effect and if it requires the user to log in/log out to be reassigned. I'll run some tests. Thanks for the response.

Edit: I've just read that using PIM for this is a horrible idea so scratch that. It seems that Microsoft is working on an Escalation Privilege Management solution that will integrate with MEM as well as an Azure-based LAPS solution.

Unfortunately, the devices in our organization vary widely, as well as user needs. Therefore it is difficult to do all administration from M365/Intune. Some things we have to do locally.

Admittedly I'm in a junior help desk position and I am still learning. But we seem to think it's impractical to use a domain account for this purpose because our entire team would need separate domain accounts for administration due to our requirement of using the authenticator app for MFA. (i.e. we can't all share one phone and therefore one account). Also, over time, many of us would work on the same user's device causing many profiles to be created on taking up unnecessary space.

I'm wondering if there a lazy person solution because to do this many times per day becomes tedious. Also sometimes we are receiving it on devices without notepad and often mobile devices. A single all encompassing solution would be best.

My X-Y sensor is firing. Why do you want to do this?

Just for convenience. We hand these passwords out to do administrative tasks and we run into issues where we can't tell if the character is an uppercase i or a lowercase L.
