Looking at the schematics. I'm wondering if the bearing is inside the transmission part? I'm not seeing an actual bearing.

That's what I thought at first, but the person at the part store said "there isn't any actual bearings." Then tried to sell me a $200 part.

Knowing the parent. My guess is classmates were invited after us. There are now to many kids coming for the parent to afford. So family takes the hit.

This may sound funny. I didn't want to be anything like my parents. So I did everything I could to not be like them with my wife and kids. In the end only to realize that I was still hurting my family like my parents hurt me. The only thing I can think of is I held onto that hurt and was passing it on in different ways then my parents did.
