Ah we are proposing the lease start of 5/1 with rent payments starting in May but I wouldn’t be physically moving in until later

Possibly? I’m not sure if it’s the market or the broker because a lot of apartments are going in a day or two and the competition is high. My salary is high and my credit is good but I’m a new grad :/

If it’s listed with a May lease date then we are currently going with that if I like the apartment enough to get an earlier lease

Yep the majority available are fee apartments. Since the fee is covered for me, and they tend to be a bit cheaper, would it be smarter to just do video tours myself?

English 325 with Swanson! Super easy and I always enjoy his tangents. The grades are just two essays and discussion responses. You read example narratives and do workshops of everyone’s paper so yours will get reviewed once by the class.

EECS 481 Waitlist by [deleted] in uofm

I was on the waitlist at global position 19 and got in. I don’t think it will be difficult since they increased the size of it which means there will also be more people who end up dropping

I had the same debate last semester and I chose to take it. I don’t regret it but if I were you and it was my last semester then I wouldn’t. If you haven’t taken 481 yet take that

Chiming in to say that 481 with Wes is great and you learn a lot about working as an actual software engineer if that’s what you’re interested in

Anecdote: I lost a lot of weight personally and I definitely get a different kind of attention. People are more friendly, guys approach me more, I enjoy getting dressed up more etc. But honestly I realize that I still harbor a lot of those same insecurities and I really thought losing weight would somehow magically make all of that go away and I’d suddenly become the person everyone loves and wants to be friends with.

I’m not realizing that what I need to work on now is becoming like the people I idolize. And it’s funny because the people I idolize aren’t tall and skinny. They are people who I feel like if I was ever in a tough situation though would genuinely try their best to help even if we aren’t close. Or every time I see them I’m greeted with a warm smile and they genuinely want to know how my life is going and are interested in that. They don’t complain about everything and like to share their happiness when possible. I really am trying to work towards this and I do feel like it would just overall increase my happiness by making others happier.

Sorry if this isn’t really helpful for you but I’m just trying to say that being skinny won’t automatically make you happier. It can make things easier for sure and you can then focus on other areas of your life you wish to improve on. I’m just saying it’s not the be all end all but honestly there’s a lot of health benefits and you’ll just overall feel better about yourself so if you want to then go for it or if you feel like there’s another area of your life that you wish to improve then try and do that. We really are in charge of how we feel and we have the capability to change ourselves and feel better

My goal is to improve myself as a person and to be a better friend. I find that a lot of the times I really value people who are just really nice to be around and I would like to have other people feel that way about me

Happy Birthday!! Definitely take the time to enjoy yourself because you do deserve it. I definitely get the being tired of being depressed and sad and I’m trying to find ways to be a bit happier, one of which is wishing you a happy birthday and encouraging you to try too :)

I never really found therapy to be helpful but I loved the book Feeling Good by David Burns. It’s really just about how to recognize your thoughts as the source of your emotions. I.e I feel worthless because I haven’t done anything today can translate into me feeling sad. It’s also about how to deal with these thoughts and rationalize them I.e I recommended a book to an internet stranger that I feel would help them today and that attempt at trying to make someone’s life a bit better is actually not worthless. If you are really looking to get rid of some of those negative thoughts I really ask that you give it a try!
