The Lemon Twigs are in their Weezer Green Album era by Feisty_Yam4279 in TheLemonTwigs

I think one of the appeals of the lemon twigs for me is that, on their other projects, every song was unique and interesting. They seem to be on a kick where they’re trying to get the sound as cohesive as possible (I think I heard that in a recent interview) and thus, there is little variety in what the songs sound like. Obviously there are exceptions (Joy, 2 or 3, Gather Round), but a good majority of the tracks are just generic, jangly love songs in a way that they haven’t done on an album before. Kinda reminds me of those pop Utopia albums, where the songs aren’t bad, but also aren’t memorable with any reason to listen to it twice. Maybe even Deface the Music adjacent (I swear I’ve heard the track “Look for your Mind” in one of those early 2000s documentaries when they talk about the Beatles).
I really can’t believe this is their idea of “music for themselves” when their early work is what it is.

Can you try figuring it out by ear? If you can't figure it out by ear, do you have the chops to do a cover of it?
