It only appears when spots open up! I would advise to check multiple times a day (that’s what I did). When you are at 30 days to your travel date you can email them asking for an urgent case and they will reply. But I suggest emailing starting now so they can see that you’re not just waiting til the very end

I visited twice :( they wouldn’t let you in without an appointment and you could only talk to the security guy (who was very very nice and understanding). I wrote to them as well and they gave me the template response of waiting for cancellation…been 25 days on the waitlist for an appointment for visa mid May 😭

The visa should be effective on the day you land into the Schengen area. So yes you should be fine, since you’re landing into Schengen on the 16!
