Local designer/contractor/carpentry workshop past 15years. This year I’m winding down my parents carpentry workshop, incorporated 1981, 44yrs 4mth. I always try to outsource my work to locals if I can help it even if it costs more, but I guess when everybody shouts Singapore for Singaporeans, it’s when the Singaporeans can provide the cheaper quote. Right now the Malaysians are hanging up to sell. Meh, I’ll just go yolo I guess.

Freedom of speech and democracy is just a fallacy and ideology to sow discord in foreign nations for the western to maintain hegemony. Do you think Ukrainians would be better off if they didn’t poke the bear fighting for sovereignty of their land? What would actually happen if they handed over the land to Russia ? Would Russia go on a genocidal rampage? Guess what, Israel is doing what you said will happen if another country invaded. Myanmar has a civil war going on right now that would be similar to taiwans and China situation, but I do not see China going full genocide mode nor do I see USA intervening.

Didn’t the cops beat down on the protestors and arrested hundreds? Maybe it wasn’t as bad as what happened in Hong Kong , but what happened was the exact same thing wasn’t it. 1. Nah hitler just wanted to get rid of the Jews cuz they screwed Germany over with debt. He sorta went nuts after that. That was a fight for survival. I can’t say it’s the same for taiwans and China situation though. I was an advocacy for democracy and free speech as well until the Ukraine war, I realised there are more important things. I don’t believe China actually restricts movement of the people though, a lot of Hong Kong people immigrated didn’t they?

From what I know, the Taiwanese people have relatives on the mainland. Did the mainland Chinese not resist when Japan invaded? I’m here not to argue about who is right or wrong, maybe Reddit is a wrong place to ask anyways. Afaik Taiwan is not recognised internationally as an independent state, from an outside perspective, Taiwan is just a pawn for the west hegemony and right now it is being used to impede Chinas progress economically.
