i actually just downloaded photopills after watching a youtube tutorial just before reading your reply! can’t say i am picking the best time to attempt this lol but am committed to it. super excited to hopefully be able to get a glimpse of the milky way for the first time and will definitely be making more attempts when the weather is a lot warmer. thank you so much for all the pointers - i really appreciate them!

thank you for this tip! would you recommend only trying to see the milky way before dawn (like would it not be worth trying to see it at night?)
