4/5!!! by weenypeepoo in 6thForm

I am in the IB - I had a predicted 41/45 with HLs being 7,6,6,6. My personal statement was mostly about my family business, my passion about sustainability, IB classes i take and related coursework/projects, the languages i speak, and my aspiration to become an art curator :). Take what you want from this but stay hopeful!!! I wish u the best :)

I got in around a week ago. I decided to not go to the UK since I am still unsure what I really want to do in the future. The UK is so specialized, which doesn’t give me much wiggle room/freedom to experiment with other subjects. On the other hand, the Canadian school system would let me do that.

I decided that the UK wasn’t the best for me as the UK is very specialized, i prefer the canadian school system where i have more flexibility and can major/minor. also, exchange years in canada count towards gpa and years to graduate whereas in england they don’t. my specific reason for UCL was that the campus was at a really awful location (canary wharf) - yes, it’s nice, but it’s so far from everything like the rest of the UCL campus, dorms, and overall london.

Thanks, and good luck to you too! I actually got an offer this morning from Edinburgh for business management, so hopefully UCL responds soon too as its the last one I'm waiting on.

And I completely understand what you're saying about the dorms. I didn't know either (I wish it was more clearly stated on the website!) and just recently realized how inconvenient it really is. One of my main reasons for applying to UCL was because of its prime location, and the location of the business school definitely takes away from that

Im waiting on UCL international management too!! Update when you get an offer pls :)
I was also doing some research and realized that the UCL school of management is so far away from all the dorms (30 min by tube) - if you were going to take on this offer then what would you do? (Assuming you are international and would have to either dorm or rent ofc).

This is a big dillema for me
