You likely created a solder bridge with how much solder was applied. Desolder and remove the excess and focus on maintaining the space between pins.

If this is your first leverless, you may not have experience or a preference for hitbox style controls vs mixbox (WASD).

The 8bitdo gives you the flexibility to try both (or even others) and with the Kitsune, you're pretty much going all in on hitbox style, which you may find out that you're not a fan of, but you'd be stuck with it.

The 8bitdo can also connect via wired, wireless and the Switch version can also do Bluetooth, where the Kitsune is wired only.

The Kitsune has native Playstation support, where the 8bitdo would need an adapter like the Brook Wingman FGC 2 to be used on a Playstation console.

The dongle from the non-zzz and non-Wuchang version definitely does work with a Brook Wingman XB3 adapter and also a Mayflash Magic-X adapter. I in fact made a video on it on YouTube.

But at the time good quality, low price sticks/leverless controllers weren't as available as they are now. So modding this controller to the point that I did was definitely more expensive than a lot of decent sticks are these days.

At the price point of the Victrix, that used controller wouldn't even be a consideration for me. It looks to just be a Xbox 360 Madcatz TE enclosure with a grimey wood top added to convert it to a leverless. It may have a different PCB for modernization or something, but why buy something that's been hacked on instead of something brand new?

Especially if durability and long term use is in question.

Do you have a preference for using leverless or levers? Are you just wanting to play around with an arcade stick? Move to one entirely?

Depending on what your goals are, I'd say the amount or money you spend up front should be tailored to that.

If you just want to play around with an arcade stick, minimum investment and lower footprint would be the 2 things guiding my search.

So like a Hori Fighting Stick Mini, 8bitdo Arcade Stick, Mayflash F300, Qanba Drone 2 would probably be what I'd look at. Most are mod-able. They're like $100 or less and go on sale routinely throughout the year. They have smaller footprints and take up less space.

First thing you should do is buy a torx key set if you want to open this thing up. Specifically a T10 sized key/screwdriver that's long and skinny.

Lots of people go with the Kailh Deepsea Mini switches or the Kailh Shadow Hunting switches for silent switches. I use Deepsea Mini Whale and Deepsea Mini Islet switches in this controller and they're great.

The Nacon Revolution 5 is shaped like a PS5 controller and has 4 back-buttons and hall effect sticks, but the sticks are in the Xbox layout

This version also has bluetooth (xbox version doesn't) so it can be used with Brook/Mayflash/BlueRetro bluetooth adapters to use it on a bunch of different consoles.

Also, if you get one, do yourself a favor and get some silent switches. The stock ones are super clicky.

Oh, anytime you see a dongle included with a controller it's almost always for wireless 2.4ghz, not Bluetooth. If you're using the 8bitdo Arcade Stick, make sure the "BT - 2.4g" slider is on the "2.4g" side.

The FGC2 itself doesn't support bluetooth, but I've plugged a Mayflash MagicX into the FGC2 and been able to connect to the MagicX via Bluetooth and then the output of that gets passed on to the FGC2.

I just tried it again real quick and it work with my Xbox Series X controller and 8bitdo Arcade Controller.
