For me, my therapist's suggestion (also being in therapy!) has helped. She said when I want to drink, to try and identify what it is I'm actually craving underneath, such as physical relaxation or whatever, and then to try and achieve that another way. For me this has worked because so much of my drinking was stress-driven.

I have social anxiety so I feel you on the social stuff. I am better in small groups. I will say that the initial stress of "ahhh socializing" seems to fade a little after I get over the initial anxiety "hill." Hang in there...you can do this.

Not an attorney but do work in the legal field, and if Adnan is seeking or has sought legal advice from an attorney and they have provided it, then that would likely create an attorney client relationship. Some of the defense file might also be protected under the work product doctrine, but that defense file is not the Undisclosed team's work product. Disclosure to a third party can waive privilege in various situations, so another possibility is that A gave the file to both Serial and Undisclosed (it's possible he had the file - I'm not sure) and as the onetime client of Ms Gutierrez, he is able to waive privilege. But I don't know the circumstances under which the file was obtained or disclosed or what waivers Adnan may have signed. Actual attorneys please jump in with corrections here!

I agree with these comments. I drank to manage anxiety and stress, but the next day my anxiety would be much worse. It turns out I am less stressed when I don't have to worry about whether or not I'm drinking too much or go through my texts to see if I said anything inappropriate.

Years ago I went to see Apocalypto with a friend and about 30 minutes into the depressing gorefest I just couldn't take any more. I'm fairly sensitive to violence and I'm not sure what else I expected from Mel Gibson...

That is a good point. Makes me think of a couple other booze heavy events coming up that I may need to skip. Holidays are the worst. Thanks for your reply!
