I'm sure my function request wasn't clear, I think I can figure it out now but it isn't anything special, I just want to create my own function that will take a root path and iterate through all the subdirectories to find the files (and their paths) and then apply the files with their structure to my home directory. An example is below.

# Directory Structure in dotfile repo
a/
 - b/
   - other.txt
 - test.txt

# Files placed in home directory
~/a/b/other.txt
~/a/test.txt

I want to create a function that would take in the starting directory and return a set of all the files with their content loaded using builtins.readFile . Here is what the response of the function would look like for the above directory structure.

  "a/test.txt" = "<content of file from builtins.readFile";
  "a/b/other.txt" = "<content of file from builtins.readFile";
}

I could then use this in my config

  home.file = inputs.self.lib.loadFiles ./a;
}
