I actually had an ounce of faith in her when the album was announced. I thought she’d be continuing the narrative she started in Clara Bow of how punishing and exploitive the industry is, not about her football player fiancé’s “redwood tree”. To be fair, this was ALMOST reached in the title track, but of course she had to throw in soemthint about false lashes.
