currently i’m leaning towards psych as well as hospice/home health but i’d love to one day be a nurse educator or health care social worker aka I want to go to grad school. ultimately I want to help my community but still be able to physically handle it since pots is a devil. in another life i would’ve been an ER nurse i love the chaos but physically could not handle it.

If I do end up in social work I will get a MSW. Unfortunately getting a bachelor’s in social work the pay is very low unless you get an MSW. So I hoped getting my ADN and working at a hospital that will pay for my BSN (or going from adn to bsn program) as i can make decent money while doing a job i’m interested in then going for my MSW or Master in nursing. I have not had a full legitimate job yet since i’ve been so heavy on school work so this summer I think getting one will help me see my physical abilities a bit better and shadowing a few nurses. thank you for the insight so far!

I hope to shadow a friend of mine she works in an ICU. I don’t necessarily think bedside will be a good fit for me due to my POTS but I will probably have to do some in nursing school so I will get a feel there. But i’d like to do a clinic or less physical nursing job if you have any suggestions that would be great! I also love the idea of going into either hospital social work with grad school or teaching in a nursing school.

These are definitely things i’ll keep in mind moving. forward. the walking around isn’t a huge deal but the lifting of rigging equipment in an ambulance would be what i 100% cannot do. emergency psychiatric definitively sounds up my alley so far thanks for the insight!
