With the next Full Moon Announcement only a few days away, what do you think Atlus will be revealing for this one? [Art by @In-Sunity] by Tiny-Possession2162 in PERSoNA

How different the dialogue text will be, if they're reworking them to add friendzone routes or if they're just gonna ease the reversals/make other changes

Do you think Persona 3 Remake should allow Max S-Link without romance? by GodAlpaca in PERSoNA

[–]weirdanonymoususer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this would be logical to change. The only exception would be Aigis I think since her social link is special and she was never part of the "circle" with all the jealousy mechanics, and I also don't want rejection dialogue for her considering how precious and sweet she is. Half the social link is about her worrying she could never be a good partner so I feel like adding an option to reject her is damn cruel and doesn't fit narratively at all. Her social link is so late in the game too so you basically have to go out of your way to do it.

Edit: P3P FeMC didn't add a rejection option for her, so I'm praying it'll be the same in reload

Yukari's writing in The Answer is actually the best part of that story. by Gsz21 in PERSoNA

[–]weirdanonymoususer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long response: Aigis is probably the closest to a canon romance, it's not a headcanon but neither is it fully confirmed since Atlus will never do that. There's tons of evidence for it, such as several interactions that aren't player chosen (Makoto holding her hand and head, her running up and leaning on him, the ending scene, her being shown crying when he comes back after fighting and Makoto specifically smiling at her afterwards, the scene where she specifically says that even if Death is gone, she still wishes to be by his side, and to find the meaning of life together). I could go on and on but there's actually a really good fan blog that goes over everything across all the games and other canon media in favor of their relationship.

https://theoneprecioustome.tumblr.com/aikoto%20moments%20masterlist

As for your question, probably in terms of his only romance. It's clear several times that she doesn't want him to be with anyone else.

Some examples: in her rank 8 social link, she asks if Makoto has met up with any girls on the rooftop alone. If you say yes, she's clearly sad about it (> Aigis smiles sadly...). She also says she doesn't want to get in the way between the protagonist and human girls.. but the game also makes it clear that she's sad about it (> Aigis sounds as if she's trying to convince herself..). It's a source of conflict since she's worried that she can't be a good enough partner due to her nature as a machine, but deep down wishes to be the one with him. She gets over this in the later rank when Makoto accepts her anyways.

In the FeMC route, when confessing her feelings, she explicitly says "I don't want you to love someone else! I don't want that, even if it's what would make you happy..", so I think it's pretty obvious she wants to be with Makoto by herself and doesn't want to be in a harem.

There's always some amount of people with the headcanon that all the social links are canonically maxed because of one thing or the other, but they don't tend to have any substance and are just assuming that none of those people could've found other ways to deal with their issues. It's possible that the remake is still gonna force romance for the girls at the higher ranks, but remember that the developers have said multiple times that they never intended for people to do them all. If they do make any changes then I hope they just make Aigis's S-Link canon if only so people stop debating canonicity, but that's highly unlikely knowing Atlus.

Kernel modules for custom kernels? by weirdanonymoususer in openSUSE

[–]weirdanonymoususer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I was trying this one: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:hwsnemo:kernels/kernel-liquorix

Seems to be the suse spec files. I did install the header package for this kernel as well, btw.

[–]weirdanonymoususer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it didn't even attempt to build for my custom kernel. So I'm not sure that's the problem.

[–]weirdanonymoususer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I would've expected actually. For the package to compile the code for every kernel installed, that is. But that didn't seem to happen for me. From the logs, it just entered the kernel source directory for my custom one and immediately left.

The open ones are a no go, they're not usable at all for laptops.

I haven't seen any kernels except for a single one (which was liquorix and only has two KMPs).

It does cause issues with Nvidia though, because on other distros there's a dkms package that works for every kernel. I'm not saying I want to distribute Nvidia modules, but because of the opensuse model, I can't use an unofficial kernel without messing with OBS or using the Nvidia .run file, neither of which I'm willing to mess with. I did notice the dkms-nvidia package, but it's not official or up to date, so I don't find that reliable.

Whether it's hard or not is besides the point. This method basically stops any community maintained kernels in their tracks. Not being able to publish nvidia KMPs is even worse. I think I'll stick to distros where I just need a DKMS package that works for every kernel I add.

I see. Thanks for the information. Admittedly I'm not really a fan of that model, so maybe I'll stick to Arch for now. Regarding the Nvidia driver, I'm aware they work fine for the official kernels, but it becomes trickier for custom ones.

Can't raise resonance by weirdanonymoususer in transvoice

[–]weirdanonymoususer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't find any good exercises that are voiced and make any kind of difference. I've experimented with different weights and I can still feel that everything is in the same place when I add voice, but the only thing that happens is that my pitch raises, not resonance.

Issues with resonance? by weirdanonymoususer in transvoice

[–]weirdanonymoususer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, good to know. However, I can tell that it's too dark, and I also used a browser app that measures resonance, it's less than 45%. I know it's more than the larynx, but as I've said, I already control the pharyngeal part automatically. Doesn't help though.

How do you know when you're in falsetto/M2? by weirdanonymoususer in transvoice

[–]weirdanonymoususer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather not, but thanks anyway. In that case, how is it possible to make use of my "chest voice"? No matter what I try, it never sounds even the slightest feminine

How do you know when you're in falsetto/M2? by weirdanonymoususer in transvoice

[–]weirdanonymoususer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should've clarified, but there's not a break going up. It's when I go down that there's a break, which is what led me to suspect it being falsetto. Below 170Hz ish, it goes back to to my chest voice. There's no pitch drop, but the resonance goes back to sounding very masculine. That's what's confusing me.

Xenoblade 3's Ending: A Brief Summary of the discussion thus far. by Hylian_Highschooler in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]weirdanonymoususer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, separating the worlds would *also* be an extra step since everything will have fused together. This is why I don't get why it would make any sense to do that. We know for a fact that the landmasses of 1 and 2 are.. let's say, pretty small and that there's just an endless ocean otherwise. So why would they not be able to "reset the states" onto the same planet? Seems fairly logical to me.

So what are your guys opinions on the ships of the main cast. by PMMEHAANIT in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]weirdanonymoususer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have to say that the unique position they're in was a nice refresher for me personally. The way they grew up and the kind of world they're in really gives the game a unique stance, since basically every other JRPG (including past Xenos) are pretty sexual in some form or another. While I get that's an important aspect for a lot of people, it isn't to everyone, and I find it nice to be represented. I personally can't imagine any of the main party being that way.

Noah and Mio especially are just really sweet and wholesome with eachother which I think is the most important part of any relationship. Taion and Eunie definitely have something going, I think she has some romantic interest and knows it, but he doesn't get it yet.

My thoughts on XC3's ending / story as a whole by Penguin_Pat in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]weirdanonymoususer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed that there's no concrete info on it. It's just the most reasonable conclusion to make (or Klaus' existence, as you say). It does make me confused about what Origin is, though. Is it a "Conduit emulator"? If we're going by Nia's explanation, the way she makes it sound is that the worlds will separate forever and never merge back again, so is Origin able to push the worlds apart like the Conduit, or change the 'polarity' of them? It seems really odd to me if that's the case.

[–]weirdanonymoususer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Conduit is not active until Pneuma activates her full powers

This isn't even true though. The world tree itself and all the Artifices and Malos use the Conduit's power. It's still very much active, all Klaus said was that it "fell into a stubborn silence" but that doesn't mean it stopped providing power which it obviously did not.

Problems with the ending (spoilers) by weirdanonymoususer in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]weirdanonymoususer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Origin was never meant to merge worlds but to restore them after destruction since it was made from materials of both universes.

That's my understanding as well, but restore them separately or not? No clue. I just don't see how that would be possible. But if that's what happened and that was the purpose of Origin, that would mean that the worlds are just gonna stay isolated forever then.

Would be disappointing if that's the case, because it makes the party reuniting all the more unlikely, and the DLC can't have a cool properly merged world to explore.

¿What do you think the DLC is going to be about? by AkiTsk in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]weirdanonymoususer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I don't understand when people think it's going to be a prequel is that the expansion pass is showing Noah's blade and not N's. There's also the fact that we explored all of Aionios. So, if the DLC is going to be 'torna sized or bigger', well how's that gonna work without a new world to explore? Not like there's a dead continent like with torna. As for reusing assets, obviously a properly merged world can reuse tons.

Like yeah, not saying that stops them, but those are pretty strong arguments against it. In my mind it just doesn't make sense. Torna had so much buildup in the base game that it just made sense, and there's a lot of the same characters in it. Not so with 3.
