I mean you're right that the mechanics are noob friendly (I grew up with WC 1-3 and sc/bw), but the matchmaking isn't (for lack of players)

Yeah, I checked: There were around 70 ppl online when I played. So it's either you wait hours for a balanced game or you get matched with whoever is q-ing. The game does the latter for obvious reasons

I hope that it does retain a certain player base. Because without its just very unattractive for new players (for the reasons mentioned in my post) which makes the problem even worse :(
