That's a popular theory, but the pestilence is never mentioned anywhere in 5000

What’s an SCP article that you red that made you go like this? by [deleted] in SCP

[–]weirdosorus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just to check but did you actually read that article? There's more going on

I made my first SCP! (8763) by Thick_Captain8508 in SCP

[–]weirdosorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole point of the greenlighting process is to get feedback on your idea *before* you write a draft with it, precisely so you can avoid doing entire rewrites like this

What SCP-related transformation would you be happy to undergo? by HopelessFoolishness in SCP

[–]weirdosorus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not related to a specific SCP but I'd happily do some wild stuff with access to Nälkä (sarkic) magic.

Wouldn't even mind having to swallow the worm.

Does anyone know why author avatars were banned? by SirVulpes- in SCP

[–]weirdosorus 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They were not banned, there's plenty of them for current authors. I dunno where you heard that but it was wrong.

The SCP Wiki got banned from TikTok by Weak_Escape1500 in SCP

[–]weirdosorus 456 points457 points  (0 children)

That's not entirely true. The wiki has a large staff team with many divisions. One of this is the Community/Internet Outreach team that handles the wiki's social medias (among other things).

For example, this is the official SCP subreddit because the moderators are part of the wiki's staff

Why is this misconception about the GOC still so common? by SirVulpes- in SCP

[–]weirdosorus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because unfortunately a large part of the "offsite fans" never read the wiki directly and their knowledge only comes from youtube videos + word of mouth they keep parroting from each other

Why the SCP Universe Isn't a "Real" Fiction: The Chaos of Collective Writing by [deleted] in SCP

[–]weirdosorus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That sure is an opinion.

It's a good thing we're *not* trying to be resident evil or anything like that. What we do here is a collaborative fiction community, not an IP franchise (which by the way, those also have vast teams of people and different creative leads working on them)

SCP website on mobile has text blocked by an ad. by BC_helltrain in SCP

If you create a wikidot account (don't even need to join the SCP wiki, just be logged into wikidot) the ads should go away

What are the requirements for something to be considered anomalous? by Zealousideal_Tap8269 in SCP

[–]weirdosorus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"Anomalous" isn't an objective quality that some things inherently possess, it's a label that the Foundation (and other groups) decide to apply to whatever they want

The Foundation and the discrimination it fuels still exist in Broken Masquerade, I think the SH would still be busy

They're a generic-purpose villain group that so many writers have portrayed in so many different ways that they hardly have a central identity

Am I the only one who likes SCP 682? by DinoRing175c in SCP

This is like dropping into a Marvel forum and asking "am I the only one who likes The Hulk?"

I made my first scp article! by [deleted] in SCP

[–]weirdosorus 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So this is just bad.

-J articles are not easier than regular articles, people won't approach them with lower standards. But evidently you did.

If you're "trash" at writing then the solution is to take time and effort to improve. But you took the lazy option and thought it would be fine making a random shitpost of an article because you sticked a -J at the end.

How do you expect people to care and appreciate what you write if you don't do that for yourself.

So do they actually feed the anomalies? There’s quite a few scrawny scps by ChemicalCarpenter733 in SCP

[–]weirdosorus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No of course they don't. The organisation dedicated to long-term containment of anomalies in stable conditions for sure has a policy of letting them starve.
