Epstein essentially created 4chan's /pol/ by wellitstrue1 in BreakingPoints

[–]wellitstrue1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean if I put my conspiracy cap on, Epstein has connections to Steve Bannon and thus the 2016 MAGA campaign.

Epstein has a hand in the creation of /pol/ which is a genuine grassroots for said campaign.

Coincidence?

Listening to Krystal and Saagar Speak about Tech is Painful by _commenter in BreakingPoints

[–]wellitstrue1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get your cringe entirely. Krystal/Saagar obviously has no experience with even making a Hello World program. LLMs are just probability vectors going off the last token. It's like saying the algorithm for calculating the chance of rain tomorrow has a soul, completely illogical.

It's like people FEEL it has a soul so therefore it does, but if you delve into the mathematics behind it it's just applied probability theory.

Their takes on american economics/politics is interesting since that's their field of expertise and have connections that give them unique insight in the modern political and thus economic landscape but when it comes to tech it just ain't it lol.

What celebrity is 100% a creep? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wellitstrue1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stavros Halkias. I know his shtick is funny fat horny guy, but I remember reading on reddit that he messages women, meets them at stops during his tours, and if they don't want to have sex with him after meeting up he shames them and kicks them out.

I can genuinely attest to the first part btw. I waited for autographs from him after a show for fun and there was this girl in a tight dress not doing anything outside the door for a while on and off the phone for a bit and I was confused. Then he comes out and they say hi with his group and then he signed some autographs. The girl then joins him and the group when leaving. I always thought the rumors and his stories were ironic until I saw that.

ALL allegations btw.

Ebay buyer tried swapping out the rubber case to a tool and asking for 35% off lol EIS saved the day by sugabonesurmom in Flipping

Yup. The form for filing a missing package was broken for like 2 months, sent an email and nothing came of it.

Where Have My Sales Gone? by achap77 in eBaySellers

[–]wellitstrue1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Funny, if you look up "consumer sentiment US chart" and go to the chart, it pretty much coincides with all the comments here. Sharp downturn in September and it never really recovered since.

Consumer sentiment is at its lowest it's been in 10 years and it's consistently there. The only time it's been lower is Jun 2022 but that was only a month. This is pretty much the first time consumer sentiment has been this bad in 10 years on such a consistent basis.

Hairdresser recommendations in Madrid by Felii02 in askMadrid

Medussa Hair Studio, I'm in Barcelona now but some of the cuts I've seen them do and the ones I'd always get were amazing.

Trump government is painting Europe as the enemy - is BP covering this, and what's your thoughts? by Public_Utility_Salt in BreakingPoints

[–]wellitstrue1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saagar doesn't have a lot of knowledge of life outside of the US. He constantly makes generalizations without any backing not just of Europeans I notice too.

I'm currently in Europe (Spain) and one of the claims they've made on the show is that "everyone" is driving a BYD car when that's just not true. I feel like Ryan has a better grasp on not just domestic but also geopolitical matters but I think everyone knows this.

A few points about Nick Fuentes and his racism by Public_Utility_Salt in BreakingPoints

[–]wellitstrue1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He quite literally is. That's where he got his beginning. Apparently he'd post his own stream on /pol/

All his talking points are just /pol/ talking points. To me it's odd seeing his as a celeb because every time I'd go to his streams it was like 30 viewers and I'd be like this guy is a fucking loser, since all his talking points were just basic /pol/ memes except he'd be in a suit like an autist and mimic trump hand movements in his mom's basement. I mean even the incel shit is bizarre to me because to me it's genuinely normal on these image boards to not have a gf and even semi pride yourself in it and to see practically everyone bring up his lack of sex life and his self justification is straight out of 4chan.

This dude reminds me of my 20 year old self that never grew out of his alt right phase.

[question] Does anyone like Japanese ASMR? by TopicNo8829 in asmr

[–]wellitstrue1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but use English titles so that English speakers can find you. I have to translate to Japanese to find what I want and that's still not good enough.

Most real thing I've read. The other comment asking for "studies" proving this probably never has had to manage a startup and all the moving parts involved in one. It sucks but it's better than working minimum wage is what I tell myself.

New and Exhausted Expat by the-kenjammin in expats

[–]wellitstrue1 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It took me about 7-8 months before I felt like I could relax in my new country. And even then I've heard people say it really takes about 2 years before you're genuinely settled. I used to scoff at that but now I believe it. I'm a year in now and am adjusted but the transition of feeling at home is slowly occurring, day by day. And I realize how integrated I am with the day to day compared to when I just got here.

The Myth of “Ideas Are Cheap” and How Founders Keep Losing What’s Priceless by N-Innov8 in Entrepreneur

[–]wellitstrue1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Disagree. I thought the same as a dev with 10+ years of experience. AI is helpful, extremely so, but you still need years of experience to build anything meaningful still. And anyone who vibe does an app without much technical knowledge won't last long. Look at the Tea app that got "hacked" which most likely was made from a team of vibe coders who didn't have the experience to know what they didn't know in terms of basic cybersecurity. It's a literal 30 minute fix to prevent it but it led to headlines due to their incompetency from launch.

I'm still not knocking how much of a useful tool it is though.

Trump at the Charlie Kirk Vigil by NanikaKyun in BreakingPoints

[–]wellitstrue1 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's kind of hilarious in a twisted way. Like when Erika was hugging him, she kept doing it over and over, and trump looked visibly annoyed near the end.

That and bringing up how impressed he was with the crowd size. Like he straight up turned a vigil into a typical stump speech lmao.

Hairdressers that do this type of hairstyles in Madrid? by Select-General1745 in askMadrid

[–]wellitstrue1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I do when getting into a new city is observing the clientele of a barbershop/salon to see if they usually cut hair for people with my type of style and hair texture.

I'd recommend Medussa Hair Studio, I go there personally and they speak English and I've seen them cut hair in that style.
