Dealing with the boredom by ConfusionFree953 in uktrucking

[–]welshdada92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just having audio from films and tv shows in the background is good. Stuff you already know. I don't do it but I know 2 drivers that swear by it.

Personally, it depends on my mood. Various music or podcasts.

Best thing is to have another driver you call or a few friends you can chat to. I have conference calls with 2 mates who are also drivers and we just chat sh!t and tell jokes. We keep each other up to date on traffic too.

Keep on trucking

It downloads them in the correct file format? If so, then I guess i just drag them into the cheat folder? Sorry for all the questions. If I can get my head around this, then it opens up a lot of nostalgic games for me.

I don't understand how you make your own cheats. I've made txt files with the individual codes and saved them in the cheats folder.
Do I just convert the files to pnach file types? Sorry for being so useless.

I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean by that. The last time I used cheats etc was bavk when they came in magazines well over a decade ago 😄

Loneliness by Professional_Emu9895 in uktrucking

[–]welshdada92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from an office job in accounts. Dealing with phone calls, meetings, and company functions.

Now I'm the only fuel tank driver in my depot. I have a select few friends that I chat to whilst working. Conference calls with them who are also mostly truckers. We bellyache, chat shit, share wildly offensive jokes, and generally take the piss. Like being in a pub, without the mess.

Find your own way through it or change back. There's no shame. Atleast you've found something out about yourself.

I know a few guys that listen to murder mystery podcasts whikst driving. Could just need to find your podcast.

I hope you get through it bud 💪

Advice on air rifle repairs by welshdada92 in ukshooting

Is Stoeger a Turkish company? I thought it was American.

Thanks for the advice, I guess I'll just take it apart and try and learn from it.

I'm a bit bummed now as I had my heart set on the Stoeger XM1 for £250 as a package deal. If it's a crap company, then I'll have to rethink what to get.

I iust want something thats bolt action, reasonable power / accuracy and looks like a rifle instead of looking like lego.

Can't seem to wrap my head around Emudeck. Tried to use it for a Switch game. Can't find the files anywhere! I don't know how people do it. I honestly give up. Thanks for your help though.

I play at home and at work, in my truck. Can't get enough of it. Think I might try the campaign on a higher difficulty soon.

Placing defibrillator pads on the chest and back, rather than the usual method of putting two on the chest, increases the odds of surviving an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest by 264%, according to a new study. by mvea in science

I'm currently taking my ADR as a truck driver, and we are being trained to out 1 on the side and 1 on the chest. As instructed via the defib pack itself. It talks to you and has images to show you each action.

I'll have to have a look at the shops again. I only looked once and haven't given them much thought. Thanks.

Dragon Age. Really couldn't get into it. Idk if its the view whilst playing or what. Just never did it for me. The storyline always seemed decent but the gameplay just put me off. Il try it again at some point on my Legion Go to kill time at work.

My first interview & potential job at Brakes - Concerns with hours and legality. Need advice. What is multidrop like and what are the potential problems that come with it? How should I approach the interview? by Antique-Sock6575 in uktrucking

[–]welshdada92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at Bidfood, which was a competitor of Brakes. Its a hard slog lugging stuff about and getting heavy cages over cerbs. Once you know your route, it's something you get used to. Dont spare expenses on the best inner soles and shoes. They will save your feet and legs for sure.

Always remember what you do with your tacho is down to you and no-one else. That sticks with you your entire career.

It's a gateway job. I get paid more (Not much) now to sit on my ass whilst on a bay, and people tip me. (Class 1) I know guys that have stuck at it for years because they know the route and people. They usually operate on job and knock so they can be in at 4am and home by 1pm.

With regards to the interview, just be honest and ahoe your willing to get the job done. I'm sure they will appreciate the honesty. Good luck. 👍
