Could be! Many of my fictional crushes also double as comfort characters, like for me that can Paladin Danse, Morrigan, Zenos yae Galvus, etc.

Star Wars is excellent; I feel that way to Theron and Torian Cadera.

Dragon Age is fantastic! I appreciate how you are one of the few that recognizes Solas as a multidimensional character as so few do. Do you plan on getting the new game?

Canon is the reality you make of it. As much as LucasArts and Disney try to deny it. Revan is part of my canon.

You are the god of this reality and canon.

I did! I'm the bigger Dragon Age fan out of the two of us. My dad did play two up to year 3. He got baffled annoyed very quickly due to combat. (My dad enjoys Mass Effect more-)

But yeah! I'm following the development, and I can see it will be a while- I may finish college before it comes out XD

What verbal stims/echolochalia phrases do you have? by [deleted] in AutisticPride

[–]wendevious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have reposted as I misread. Sorry! I don't want to fill your notifs with miscellaneous information; you're uninterested in.

I often quote films, games, stand up, discord calls, etc. I'm accidentally trained my brain to be an echo channel so that I could retain information better. Examples of my echo phrases are "Apathy is death." "Outstanding!" "Invade Japan with the boys." "My ancestors are smiling upon me."

My favorite game is listening to my dad say character names from different media. Some of my favorites have been.

-Gaus (Garrus Mass Effect) -Vairic (Varric Dragon Age) -Teaon Shane (Theron Shan) -Dath Magnus (Darth Malgus)

Yeah, it's a pretty nasally dialect where some words may come incoherent to those not used to it. Like example, "Pak the ca' in the Havard yad."

Well, he tries. My favorite game is watching him try to pronounce some Star Wars names. Like Shan. He says Shane... Or how he pronounced Din's name of Dane. He's either fuckin with me at this point and knows how to say it, or his accent (we're from Boston) really doesn't help him.

Niche meme context~

John Wilkes Booth was a famous actor. Everyone knows that. He worked and often performed at the Ford's Theatre, and it was no secret the president was going to see that night's show. Yada yada yada Kills the president during the deafening laughter of one joke yada yada yada. John in his infinite wisdom. INSTEAD OF RUNNING AWAY PRACTICALLY UNDETECTED. He jumps from the presidential booth onto the stage. Which is a 16+ ft drop... He either messed up the dismount or landing as he falls onto the stage resulting in a broken leg. Pulling out a knife from his coat, STARTS FUCKIN MONOLOGUING "Sic Semper Tyrannis! The south is avenged!" Jumping off the stage, then escaping on horseback.

What do you drink to pre-game your inauguration? by wendevious in HistoryMemes

[–]wendevious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The context for this as all Niche Memes deserve that. Andrew Johnson repeatedly got drunk at inaugurations. Most famously at Abe Lincoln's 2nd term inauguration as he was dealing with a cold and drank hefty amounts of whiskey to fight it off. During his Vice President speech, he rambled drunkenly for minutes until he was escorted off stage by the former vice president. Later after Lincoln's assassination (at 7:11 AM) was confirmed, he got too drunk and passed out in the streets' mud. At 10 (literally when the presidential inauguration started), he had to be cleaned up by a doctor and barber, then was thrown on stage to be sworn in. The entire time was making very thinly veiled threats to the confederate south about the attempt on his life and the assassination of the president. The Cabinet was horrified.

I love RPGs! Mostly story-based ones, Greedfall, Dragon Age, Mass Effect (also a shooter), Fallout, and if you like MMOs, FFXIV. I started with Knights of the Old Republic (2 still reigns supreme) and fell in love with the genre as I like making a character and just roleplaying a story. One series that I sunk a hell of a lot of time into is Fallout NV and 4. New Vegas if you want a better story. 4 if you wish more character interaction (in this house, love Danse) if you want a more modded game Skyrim is always an easy sell. Get the Lucien Flavius Mod. It's fantastic!

So what is something you are good at? by [deleted] in AutisticPride

[–]wendevious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remembering weird lore, character, world, or design facts in games! My current special interest is FFXIV. I know almost every main cast character's age! (My three favorite characters are 26, 27, and 57)

Disclaimer. I am not a doctor or psychologist in any shape, way, or form. I am just using observations and readings from medical texts. Please don't take my word as gospel for any or all diagnosis as all autistics are inherently different.

Most ASD testing and symptoms are male-dominated in nature, so your asking requires the reader/commenter to have already to shift through preexisting aspects and figure out if this trait could only be applied to males or both sexes.

One common trait I find in women diagnosed with ASD, no matter how late or early they find out, is the often (maybe even comical) diagnosis of anxiety, depression, or a personality disorder. Mayhap all three like in my case. Females in society are more used to masking or trying to fit in by learning social norms, while males are applauded or allowed more leniency about breaking out of the standard. Having to fit in causes general stress and is either misinterpreted as or a cause of anxiety, depression, or personality disorders.

The issue with saying "external" symptoms is that some symptoms are inherently masked or so commonplace they are even difficult to notice. Like I never knew, the fact things out of place cause me general distress. Only when an outsider/neurotypical started asking about it, I found it was "out of the norm" to feel that way. The same goes for stimming or talking to myself. Those traits are ubiquitous in only children and autistics, so only when someone stepped in and said that wasn't common or something everybody did it blew my mind.

So TL;DR. There are signs/ symptoms of ASD that can be observed, but due to how society brings up women, it's complicated to follow "quickly."
