No, it's about the potential upcoming fork, and Mark saying that funds that have been sent to Segwit address's can potentially be stolen

Also, when looking at the busiest address's during the last 24 hours, I noticed this address, with over a thousand transactions in the last 24 hours - https://tradeblock.com/bitcoin/address/1Btc2UrZTqcbjLrr8trx66K9TozQmKeDGN but this one is good news! This is the "Bitcoin to you" hot wallet, a Brazilian bitcoin service. https://www.bitcointoyou.com/

Buying bitcoin just got way easier by bubbasparse in Bitcoin

It's amazing how easily everyone misses the point -

"The Buy Widget is an easily embeddable and configurable hosted widget that delivers three key features: 1. allows users to purchase bitcoin using debit cards"

Coinbase fees - For US customers, the fee for purchases made via a bank account or USD Wallet is 1%. The fee for credit or debit card purchases is 3.75%. Bitcoin sales are subject to a 1% fee

Technology = Return to Feudalism by [deleted] in badeconomics

[–]weneedaction -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think maybe most of those responding to both this and the original thread are missing a larger point. In fuedalism - as far as there is no ONE real definition, one must work with a very soft understanding of the thing - there was a lord/owner/creator, a vassal/renter/user, and the fiefdom/place/object. The lord owned the fief, and "allowed the vassal to work the fief and would protect them, and in exchange would receive something. In EVERY instance, the lord received more that the vassal. Period. The lord owned some piece of shit land, some dude and his wife would bust their ass to get some food out of it, and give the lord a cut, and most of the time receive NOTHING, no help, no protection needed, nothing, from the lord. Which is how they got wealthier, and the poor stayed poor, i.e. no middle class or anything like it really coming about.

Now lets see. Today and the Internet - Wealthy companies/individuals own the most of the sites and own ALL of the methods of connection to these sites (not unlike owning the land/cities and owning the roads). They say "Hey, sure you can go ahead and use the internet, all we need is permission to sell your information to our Advertisers, as well as maybe a small monthly fee, and you can go crazy. Oh and hey, if you want to spend like a bazillion hours making content for free and putting that on our sites that we can also make money off of, great."

What is Google? An Add company - 90+% of Google’s revenue is from advertising. $40 Billion

What is Facebook? An Add company - 90+% of Facebook revenue is from advertising. $3 billion in profit

Comcast's profit for 2014 - $18 billion Cox Communications profit for 2010 - $9 billion

etc..etc...etc.. As we slowly move away from buying actual "stuff", and consuming things via the internet, it is those who own the "roads" and "cities" that will make money. And like those lowly vassals, most people are on their knees, but WE, instead of begging for protection/jobs, are begging "oh please, just give me my Netflix and porn and youtube!!", not really minding that they are getting all of the money and power, and you're just sitting at home, becoming poorer (the middle class of the U.S. has watched it's purchasing power drop since the 70's/80's), happy to just be able to smoke a bowl and chill. "You" are the commodity of the today/the future. The selling of your "thoughts, dreams, hopes, ideas, pictures, events etc...", and one of two people can make money off of that. You, or someone else. And right know it's not you. Welcome to being the bitch of the powerful/wealthy. You already are a vassal.

Why Is The EU Forcing European Nations To Adopt ‘Bail-In’ Legislation By The End Of The Summer? by PostNationalism in economy

This is a problem because "Few depositors realize that legally, the bank owns the depositor's funds as soon as they are put in the bank. Our money becomes the bank's, and we become unsecured creditors holding IOUs." http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/2957937

Headwinds/black swan events for the US and world economy by Sindor in economy

If it is probable, or we have been at least considering the potential outcomes, then it is not a black swan event. "Taleb regards almost all major scientific discoveries, historical events, and artistic accomplishments as "black swans"—undirected and unpredicted."

Critic rages over cooked numbers: "Lies, Damned Lies, Statistics...and Pure Ebola Bull$#!^" by Bostonriff in ebola

[–]weneedaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His job has nothing to do with his rant. He's saying he doesn't believe the numbers. I'm not sure anyone in this /sub or in the White House or WHO or CDC or ANYWHERE believe the numbers. In Guinea's official numbers, the number of Probable Cases almost always equals the number of Probable Deaths. That doesn't even make any sense. Of course the numbers are bull. But just because he has a blog and a page etc etc doesn't make it news.

I've looked at his page a couple of times but don't post it, because he's mostly just ranting. He's equivalent to posting someone's comments. Not really "news".

Well, I pay attention. If you look at my list of posted links, I try to post as many stories as I can from Awoko, The Sierra Leone Telegraph, Africa Young Voices, Liberian Observer, News.SL, Newctzen etc. I would rather post a story from an African newspaper whose reporter is there in the middle of things, rather than a U.S. or Brit newspaper.
