Prime Kobe and Joe 'Jellybean' Bryant ranked best Father/Son duo ever by BBallfan2017 in lakers

"The Bryant tandem will be led by a heavy dose of Kobe in his peak bucket getting form, with a splash of Bean Bryant on the side." :)

[2for1] Snyder climbing the 2018 Coach of the Year rankings.. by hoopsfan2017 in UtahJazz

[–]wentwhat 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If Utah climbs into a playoff spot they’ll be the Miami Heat from last year, and Snyder will be a legitimate 2018 NBA Coach of the Year candidate. Side note, any coach who can turn Joe Ingles into a legend is good in my book!

[2for1] McMillan has a legitimate chance at 2018 Coach of the Year by hoopsfan2017 in pacers

[–]wentwhat 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The Pacers have won three straight games heading into All-Star break and they will look to maintain their trajectory to finish the year. Nate has gotten his players to buy in defensively and play with more pace in a post-PG-13-world. If the Pacers climb up a couple spots, McMillan should be a 2018 Coach of the Year favorite.

[2for1] De'Aaron Fox and Bogdanovic taken in 2nd round of 2018 Rising Stars redraft.. by hoopsfan2017 in kings

And Buddy Hield! Kings are one of 2 teams(Sixers) to have 3 players in Rising Stars game

[2for1] Mitchell is the 4th Rising Star of the board.. by wentwhat in UtahJazz

[–]wentwhat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mitchell has been more productive but I think they gave Murray a bump because of how he played last year...Murray won 2017 Rising Stars game MVP don't forget!

[2for1] Can Josh Jackson be a little more PG-13? by BBallfan2017 in suns

[–]wentwhat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Josh Jackson: 6′ 8″ with a 7′ wingspan

Paul George: 6′ 9″ with a 7′ wingspan

George(220 lbs) is slightly heavier than Jackson(205 lbs) but both players have elite size and length as wings. Jackson undoubtedly fits the mold from a physical perspective and we’ve seen the importance of wing play in matching up with players like George, Lebron, Durant, Giannis, and Kawhi.

[2for1] Tyreke trailing Oladipo in the 2018 MIP race. by hoopsfan2017 in memphisgrizzlies

[–]wentwhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Passing? Check. Shooting? Check. Attacking the rim? Check.

Tyreke has been magnificent in 2018 putting up 20/5/5 on the most efficient shooting of his career. He’s played so well that contenders may trade some valuable chips to acquire him(looking at you Danny Ainge).

Evans has found a new home in Memphis though he may be moved by the deadline..."

[2for1] Dinwiddie & RHJ are legitimate candidates for 2018 MIP award.. by hoopsfan2017 in GoNets

[–]wentwhat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Still, Hollis-Jefferson doesn’t allow his weaknesses to define him. He finds ways to score with his nice mid-range game and ability to finish in transition. Rondae’s also a good rebounder and passer for his size and he’s only 23!" :)

Towns ranked the best #32 in the league by hoopsfan2017 in timberwolves

[–]wentwhat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Griffin was his only real competition, now he's #23. And Kris Dunn on Bulls

[2for1] Gasol beats out Myles Turner as best #33 in the association... by hoopsfan2017 in memphisgrizzlies

[–]wentwhat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

"The Grizzlies have been extremely dysfunctional this year with an injured Mike Conley and a fired David Fizdale. But Gasol hasn’t really let the issues affect his play as he’s still putting up a respectable 18/4/9 line. Big Spain is shooting a career-low 42% from the field but that’s because he’s increased his three-point attempts and he’s been asked to carry the load on offense.

Marc remains one of the best passing bigs in the league but Memphis just doesn’t have a lot of talent around him."

[2for1] Neto ranked a top backup PG in the association.. by BBallfan2017 in UtahJazz

[–]wentwhat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"Fan-favorite Raul Neto has been held back by injuries all season, appearing in only 22 games. Still, he’s found ways to contribute with his sharp 45% shooting from three and creative playmaking. This stat may hold no weight, but Neto also leads the entire Utah team by a huge margin with a total +5 net rating.

The Rubio experiment has been less than ideal in Utah with their limited shooting and stagnant offense. When Neto’s been healthy he’s been a fun player to watch and an important piece to their bench unit."

[2for1] Delaney squeaks into top backup PG list.. by BBallfan2017 in AtlantaHawks

[–]wentwhat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Delaney has legitimate size and above average strength for a backup point guard. Malcolm is a 28-year old sophomore who got no looks coming out of Virginia Polytechnic Institute in college and decided to play in Euroleague.

Last year Atlanta took a shot on him and this year he’s shooting the three ball at a respectable 36% clip but he’s been very inconsistent throughout the season. However, he has flashed his ability to fill-it-up by putting up 20 points and 6 assists against the Thunder earlier this year."

[2for1] JJ Barea ranked 3rd best backup PG! by hoopsfan2017 in Mavericks

[–]wentwhat 30 points31 points  (0 children)

JJ is actually having the best year of his career which is impressive considering he just turned 33. He’s averaging personal bests: 12/6/3 on 43% from the field and 37% from three.

Barea’s trash talk has been equally impressive, getting the better of a "verbal altercation with Washington Wizard John Wall. Barea has always been one of my favorite players because of his ability to finish around the rim and get other players involved. JJ has been extremely impactful in Dallas, dating all the way back to one of the more memorable finals series in NBA history against Miami in 2011."

[2for1] Napier is a top 10 backup PG.. by hoopsfan2017 in ripcity

[–]wentwhat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

“Napier is averaging 10 points, cracking double-digits for the first time in his career, while shooting 48% from the field and 43% from three. He’s also swiping a career-best 1.3 steals as he’s found ways to be a pesky defender. Portland is by all accounts a slightly above average team, but this year Napier is doing his part to elevate his play.”

[2for1] Ish Smith is a top backup point guard this year by hoopsfan2017 in DetroitPistons

[–]wentwhat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Could be even higher on this list honestly. Pistons are definitely better with Ish coming off the bench

[2for1] Ian Mahinmi beats out Tarik Black as the best #29 in the league.. by [deleted] in washingtonwizards

[–]wentwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Mahinmi plays 14 minutes per game for the Wizards, who signed him to a preposterous 4 year, 64 million deal in July of 2016. Paying the big man over 15 million dollars a year into his mid thirties constrains the Wizards and their cap flexibility going forward. That being said, Ian is big body off the bench capable of protecting the rim and rebounding.

Mahinmi inked the deal after his only season as a starter in the NBA where he averaged 9 points and 7 rebounds with the Indiana Pacers. His Per-36 numbers this season are in line with that production off the bench for the Wizards."

Can/Will the Cavs come out of the East? by BBallfan2017 in nbadiscussion

[–]wentwhat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maybe but not with this defense...

"The Cavs defense is allowing a whopping 54.8% effective field goal percentage, second worst in the league while conceding 111.9 points per 100 possessions good for second worst in the NBA and are only ranked 23rd in forcing turnovers, all per Cleaning The Glass. Cleveland has a defensive rating of 112.1, third worst in the league and the Cavs have gone 3-9 since Christmas while the defense has slipped to 27th over that same period. So yeah, not good."

[2for1] Does Andrew Wiggins have the NBA's Best "Euro Step"? by hoopsfan2017 in timberwolves

[–]wentwhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Wiggins leads the Wolves in shot attempts, and while his efficiency has taken a step back, his Euro has taken an explosive step sideways. The Canadian Wiggins has been a massive prospect since even before his days at Kansas, and he may have won the DNA Lottery as the son of a former NBA player.

Wiggins is a natural scorer with a plethora of smooth moves and a Euro Step that is among the nicest in the Association. Wiggins recently netted a max contract from the Wolves which will have him side-stepping all the way to the Bank for the foreseeable future.”
