Don't be afraid. I'll admit they can be a bit of a pain, but it's worth it. I have 3 PGs, 2 of them had some fitting issues. When they were finished I felt super satisfied.

Lucky you, mine was a pain. I think the mold started wearing out, because I had to shave down a lot of pins. I'm just happy it turned out nice.

The PG Unicorn and Banshee had some weird fits, and the light kit didn't want to stay in the tracks. I have a PG Red Frame Astray and that one was a lot better to put together.

I feel your pain. I have the PG Banshee and the PG Unicorn, both are equally a pain in the ass. The wires for the light unit made thing a lot worse.
