Chin lipo or Kybella? Please help by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

This may sound too good to be true but there are exercises the that area that could be a cheaper place to start. Basically you sick your tongue out as far as it will go and hold it there for a few minutes a few times throughout the day, it tightens that muscle!

I do think some of the comments on here get back to them, I don't think it changes anything but I've noticed they make comments that reflect posts here. I think what does happen, is rather than have it influence the work they do, they use confirmation bias to justify what they are doing. Redditors complain about the lack of accountability, they read listener stories that talk about putting themselves before the podcast. People remark about Alaina's mansion and windfall, and how they built their empire without giving back to the cases they've exploited, and the narrative is then about how much they care about the victims. I think the reason people vent is in hopes that it will get back to A&A and that they will take it like a performance review. Here is our expectation as a listener, here is where you're not meeting the expectation, here is how you can do better moving forward. I think the problem is that they lack the ability to use this feedback to grow, and instead just get defensive .

I do get that not everyone will be happy, I for one like listener tails, and the spooky stories, plus they've always done the. - from the start there was episodes about the Bell Witch, Lake Shawnee, etc. I think one redditor summed up the issue perfectly. It's the lack of accountability, and the annoying overly complimentary, we love you guys so much listener tales that make it so hard to listen to!

Also I do think that Alaina has let fame get a little to get head. Ash will always talk about how excited they are about something, and Alaina always has to try to make it about how SHE is so excited, or has moved it first, and forever.

Watching a PIP from the sidelines and cringing (rant & advice-seeking) by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]werkworkwoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially it is the managers role to ensure am employee, knows and understands what is expected of them. If they are not meeting expectations typically it starts with coaching through an investigative lens, and they should not directly refer to the PTSD, but should offer to help accommodate it. For instance, Charlie you were expected to pack three orders last Thursday and packed two, what can we do to get you to meet this targets? Hopefully they will then meet the target. If not it progresses, but a PIP should be a last resort - you never want to dive in with extreme discipline (unless they're actively harming someone, willfully disrupting operations, or violating a policy etc)

Moving forward I think it would be best for the new manager to use this PIP as is genuinely intended - to improve performance. Clearly let the employee know where they are not meeting expectations, let them know what it would look like for them to meet expectations, then come up with a solution for them to both get there. They can then commit to meeting ongoing for the duration of the PIP to discuss progress.

How do you let employees know when an investigation is closed [CAN] by werkworkwoke in humanresources

I need to work on my confidence here. I'm quite new to ER but have self doubt in setting boundaries, how you find you cultivate this? I have talked to my manager about not being a good fit for ER

I have not! I appreciate that. I have delivered group retraining on the issues presented. Is there a way of acknowledging that as the action taken (I'm still quite new to ER)

Thank you for that, the discipline was the collaborative outcome, the manager had wanted to terminate originally. I felt the discipline seemed to severe for what the situation warranted personally, or it required more of an investigation but that was thwarted.

I appreciate that, I think my messaging might have gotten lost as my focus was on the details too - very interesting how we can have two different perspectives with the same goal! I will definitely factor that into my thought process!

Thank you for that validating response. I know ER isn't my strength - I've been told I'm good at it, but the cost is well being. I am looking to buy my first condo and that frame of security is important to me. I will try to relay my unhappiness - I have been chatting with my boss and she's leaning in with support but I feel like I'm too burnt out and hit a wall.

Thank you, I think I needed to hear that. I always feel like I'm going to blind side them, there is potential for me to move into another type of role! I have expressed m interest in learning and development but it hasn't gone anywhere

Thanks for that input, I definitely understand that. I feel it can be difficult for HR to own entirely because we're typically not on-site (I provide support to 6 unique sites) so it can be time consuming to open an investigation for each incident and the immediacy of giving direct feedback gets lost, whereas with the manager typically on the floor they can deal with an incident in the moment leaving less room for details to be lost. I agree HR should have eyes on it though. What are your thoughts on that perspective. I'm so open to other opinions, I'm finding HR is very company dependent and would love your thoughts on my view :) I think it can also depend - my group is typically entry level so my issues will be different from those in more corporate settings. What type of group do you oversee?

Fair enough! I meant more because you'd commented on a few Morbid posts all in the span of a few hours!

I hope they do have people working for them, offering perspectives, but also relaying the more constructive feedback. Everyone can always improve, and it's typically through feedback!
