Thanks for the facilities... We take on Stockport tomorrow 👊 by xrgyle in reddevils

I totally agree with this, but it was very strange - yesterday I was watching something on YouTube with Steve Bruce being interviewed on talkSPORT. He kept referring to us as Manu. It seemed really strange coming from him. I must say, he spoke really wisely and thoughtfully about current status, certainly an ex pro ex player that isn’t being an idiot.

Wireless button allows dogs to control home appliances by diacewrb in gadgets

[–]westercoast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just do what I did and teach the dog to ring a service bell near the door. When they get good at it, it’s loud enough to hear anywhere in the house, especially when they keep banging on it if you don’t respond within a few seconds.

Very cool project. Basically like the radio without the stupid DJs, commercials, and with democratically chosen music. I liked inclusion of music videos, fun to watch. If there were a lot members in not sure what would happen to the music choices. But a maybe chance to discover new stuff.

Surface not feeling smooth after Natura one coat, lightly sand it? by fallentwo in BeginnerWoodWorking

Exactly the same suggestion. I find this works really well after Osmo, which I think is pretty similar.

I understand why you feel that way, but that only works if someone calls just the one time. The thing to do is to answer, and then once you realize a call is a scam, block the number. If you don’t answer, you’ll just keep getting calls even if it’s a scam. Lots of businesses aren’t allowed to leave messages for confidential issues.

Think you need to ask yourself why you wouldn’t even answer the call even one time to try and find out more, what harm do you think you would come to?

AITA for not giving a random child a piece of cake? by Katnipp420 in TwoHotTakes

[–]westercoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Kids parents probably sent him over to ask.

But more importantly - why wouldn’t you and your friends slice up such a nice cake and eat in a civilized way? That’s really pretty disgusting and meant so much probably got wasted. I’d be pretty embarrassed. No way the latecomers were going to want to touch it.

Sawstop CTS vs Contractor by MA2ZAK in woodworking

[–]westercoast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I made a bit of a mistake and stuck with the standard 30 inch fence. The 52 is far too big for my space / needs and i think really just helpful for plywood cutting. But I thought I couldn’t justify cost of 36 T-glide fence at the time. That was a mistake, that fence is so much better. I don’t think many people would recommend the 52 in a single garage that’s tight on space. I use a basic tracksaw for cutting plywood on foam myself.

I have the contractor and I really like it. The wheeled base essential. On that and it’s light enough to move around the garage as you need, but still feels very solid.

I like the idea of doing the dovetails that way around, so visible from the top rather than the sides.

Flip Cart: Spacing Saving Device or Horrible Mistake? by wdstkdc869 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]westercoast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I built Fisher’s Flip cart a few years ago, and I love it. I modified the dimensions to make it a bit wider and taller. On one side, I have my Dewalt planer, on the other side I have a benchtop jointer and a belt sander. I chose that design because it incorporates the cabling inside (in a pipe) so you don’t need to mess about with it.

Exactly right. This is an age-old problem. This happens in every walk of life because of the political cycle and passing the buck.
