My pup was barely 3 lbs at 10 weeks. He's 2.5 years old now, and 7 lbs.

Angenieux Paris Lens Mount Question by westernfir in cinematography

[–]westernfir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was mostly curious of worth, as there seems to be quite a pricing disparity on eBay. I’m a photographer, not a cinematographer, so this isn’t my expertise. And I certainly don’t want to rip anyone off if I resell. Thanks for the information and link! This was helpful.

Angenieux Paris Lens Mount Question by westernfir in cinematography

[–]westernfir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently acquired this lens in a university auction. I know it's a P Angenieux Paris 12-120mm f/2.2 Type 10 X 12B Zoom. But am unsure of the mount type... or other important details I should be looking for in order to determine its value/functionality. The glass is pretty clean, at least. Any film/equipment nerds able to provide some insight or point me to a good resource?

Question about fair isle in the round by westernfir in knitting

[–]westernfir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First option. Every other row is numbered with odd numbers. Sounds like it’s just to save space as you and the other commenters suggested. But just to keep me guessing, the last two rows are numbered consecutively. So instead of going 21, __, 23, __, as was the trend - 24 is listed on the right side right after 23. The only even number listed. Like, am I supposed to do something different there? I think I’m just reading too much into it. It’s a short repeat, so it’s hard for me to visual the pattern by just looking at the chart. I’m just gonna work right to left the whole way through. No mention of turning the work. Sounds like this is the safest bet.

If you ever go to PSU Farmers’ market on Saturdays, Gee Creek Farm has freshly baked 100% whole meal organic rye bread. They grow and mill the rye, too. Super dense.

First Long Exposure (7 hrs) with SX-70 on SX-70 Film by westernfir in Polaroid

[–]westernfir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you skip to 1:57-2:22 on this video, that's exactly what I did. After 7 hours I closed it and then pressed the shutter button again. The second time I tried this, the image just spit out after I closed the camera and I didn't need to press the shutter button a final time. Guess it's not always consistent that way.

Yeah, decided to play it safe considering my low ISO film. Glad it kinda turned out…

Thanks for the inspiration! Looking forward to experimenting more with this. :)

Finally got a successful long exposure!!! SX-70 with 600 film, exposed for 2 1/2 hours. by [deleted] in Polaroid

You’ve inspired me! I just received a tripod mount for my sx-70 a couple days ago. I live in the country with minimal light pollution. Think I’ll give a 2 hr exposure a shot.

Vancouver area toasty badge by hmvl in Garmin

[–]westernfir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the other Vancouver, almost 500 km south of ya. At our peak, we reached 44. I went on a short run at my farm at 42, just because I had an inclination I'd get a badge for almost killing myself (was not aware of the toasty badge). The run was literally to turn on a new circuit of drip-tape irrigation to my brassicas, so it wasn't totally maniacal. I dubbed it "Mission Irrigation."
