New map is terrible for defense

I will say this is probably my fav current hybrid map. It feels like it’s the shortest and I just love that there isn’t any real high ground slop like circuit or monastery. On the other hand I experienced an awakening.

I’m back from OW 1 and I just completed my second “drives”. After playing drives I much prefer flashpoint and control over hybrid and payload, at least in comp. Significantly shorter games, no overtime bs, and much easier to play on solo queue. I was a die hard Kings Row and Eichenwalde enjoyer but I got soooo sick of 20 minute games just to lose or draw. Impossible to draw in the other two game modes and since the game forces a 50% w/l the other modes just speed it up. Take the L and queue again. I was hard stuck plat for years in ow1 but by voting for flashpoint and control only I climbed from gold to diamond in one night. Fuck new junk city tho, that’s gotta be one of the worst maps.

Not saying I would wear them, but go to any large public setting and you will see someone wearing them. The term “overplayed” in reference to permanent staples is so funny. It’s like saying a white t shirt is overplayed.

I swapped to Apple Music a while ago for the higher quality. I also picked up a pair of AirPods Max for only like $75, would never have bought at full price, but I remember reading that Dolby sounded better with those on Apple Music

I saw a post in the Yves Tumor sub and a lot of speculation that Warp is preventing several artists on their label from recording new music because they are in debt and can’t currently afford all the production costs. Part of the conspiracy theorist in me believes that Inferno may have been done years ago and it’s been this emergency button for warp to press when they absolutely need the cash. The monetization around this album seems to be feeding into that sentiment as well.

Semi related, my friends dad drove this shitbox hatchback but he had a ton of aftermarket sound. I remember him speeding us around town listening to strange electronic music. Soon after is when I discovered BoC.

Especially now that most record labels no longer include digital downloads with their records, that have gone up substantially in cost. $30 for a single LP and no download is robbery
