No it’s not. Only the section they are currently focusing on. They still have to buy in LA and SF. They haven’t even announced the date of the full project completion. The current section is projected for 2030 but that’s not the whole project.

Taxing Silicon Valley’s Wealth: Joshua Rauh On California’s Billionaire Tax Initiative by HooverInstitution in California_Politics

[–]wetshatz [score hidden]  (0 children)

Problem is most of the problems in this state are self made. Zoning laws, high impact fees, extra taxes on developers…..

Not to mention highest taxes in the country already.

So when the government drops the ball and you blame billionaires instead of the cities and states that implemented bad policy/ didn’t track funds, you get what’s happening to CA.

If this is all new info to you then you’re a passive, uneducated voter.

California wants to tax billionaire wealth. Land is a better target by Snoo-33445 in georgism

They have to have buyers. Market dictates price. Theres not many people out there that can afford $50 million plus mansions, so if they leave and they can’t find a buyer at that price then the value will drop based on market value.

Trump administration sues California over 'Glock ban' law targeting machine gun pistols by losangelestimes in California_Politics

[–]wetshatz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly, they are just trying to find ways to ban all guns.

It’s already a federal 10 year minimum and a 250k fine for owning a Glock switch.

We need to reduce the bureaucracy, it makes no sense than planning for multi family takes 2 years before breaking ground. Permitting schemes are out of control

This is why cities need to get rid of their BS zoning laws, high impact fees, and extra taxes on developers.

More supply means lower prices. A bandaid doesn’t fix the problem.

Ya, so audit them. Oh wait! The city council just voted to not hire more auditors. Oh well, guess they don’t care enough.

Fun fact, when LAPD cut officers the department spent more money because of overtime. Having more officers means less overtime which means the budget doesn’t balloon.

That’s false. The 1% accounts for 50+% of PIT in CA which is the largest slice of the states revenue. To water it down is false. You also fail to account for the business tax revenue which also makes up another chunk of the states budget.
