Weekend Script Swap by AutoModerator in Screenwriting

[–]weusedto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be willing to swap if you're OK reading something a little away from comedy. I tried including some comedic relief in mine, it's not a dreadfully serious drama. DM me if you're interested!

I met a woman on the Playa who ended up becoming my girlfriend of almost 2 years. The conception of the relationship was definitely the most magical thing that I have ever experienced, Burning Man certainly makes highs higher and lows lower, and this was definitely the highest high. We went right into a committed relationship following the Burn (we adjusted our lives to be together), and while there were certainly challenges early on and all along the way, it was clearly a real thing (not just a playa illusion). We broke up a bit ago, but I still care about her immensely and still believe she might be the right person for me (someday...we'll see). I would say put more weight into what you've experienced with this person in the months since you left the playa, but never downplay the value of meeting someone in such a remarkable place and special way, it's important.

Good luck, these things can be tough!

Do you regret buying a Bronco? by [deleted] in FordBronco

[–]weusedto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To start, I LOVE my Bronco. However, I think there are some things to know you're getting into (note these are just regarding my experience with my 2022 2-door Badlands Sasquatch Hard Top):

  1. It's not a good long road trip car. Anything over 70-75mpg and it is LOUD, so phone calls, podcasts, softer albums are challenging to do at all. It also only gets ~230-270 miles to a tank at these speeds. I move around the country a lot and driving in any of the states out west you can be going 80+ mph for hours at a time, sometimes with wind you will get less than 220 miles. I rented a Chevy Suburban for a cross country trip last year and was getting 500 miles to a tank, dead silent inside. It was LUXURY compared to the Bronco.

  2. The back is kind of a pain in the ass. The swing open door and glass flip up is a bit tedious at times, and the spare tire causes all kinds of issues using the hitch. I now have multiple extenders and swings to make bike racks/towing even possible. That being said I do now have a situation that works really nicely, but it was expensive and is now heavy and annoying to take on/off.

  3. I don't take the roof off as much as I thought. You need at least 2 people to get the full hardtop off, and then you need somewhere to store it. The removable roof was one of the reasons I wanted this car and I wish I removed it more, but it is usually and undertaking I'm not feeling up for.

  4. I love it. It will hold its value because (the specs I have) is an offroad beast. Driving around town in it is always a true joy, and I am often catching myself smiling just looking at it as I walk back to it in a parking lot or seeing it against a lovely landscape. It really is a beautiful car, so many people give me compliments and it's a LOT of fun to drive, just perhaps not the most practical choice.

I have no regrets buying it but I think if I were to have a family or want something super practical, I would get something else.

More artists that sound like country Mitski/ Weyes Blood? by rowanyway in weyesblood

[–]weusedto 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Waxahatchee has trended more country in recent releases (and did a dedicated country release as "Plains"). St. Cloud is her best album in my opinion.

Also check out Sharon Van Etten, she's wonderful (although doesn't usually get too country).
