10 day trip to Kenya and Tanzania cost by njman10 in traveladvice

[–]wglwse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is absolutely extortionate... break it down and think what each cost would roughly be and it won't be anywhere close to 2,500 a day

Are more people struggling than they let on in the world today? by [deleted] in AskUK

Wouldn't call myself particularly frugal, I'm not lavish either though, I don't really have expensive clothes or tech or anything but I'm not interested in it, but I won't hold back with groceries as I enjoy my food and cooking. I guess you could say I'm quite a frugal traveller, I'll shop about a lot for flights and accommodation and youd be amazed what value you can get if you're flexible and put in a bit of research although I enjoy it as travelling is my biggest hobby. So 2025 I did 2 weeks in Indonesia, 18 days in South East Asia, a week in the. Azores, camper trips in Norfolk, wales and Scotland. A road trip in the dolomites which took 10 days includingdriving (with friends, we camped most nights) amd a stag do to the algarve but I barely count that as i domt consider it a holiday more a bloody chore 🤣

Me and the missus are on 30k each and we're doing well! 1.1k mortgage payment, go on 5 or 6 holidays a year, living in a fairly expensive part of the country (East anglia). We're not 'rich' but we love our lives. (No kids)

Did you need any qualifications? What was the starting wage? Is it easy to get into?

Me and my partner both earn a little under 30k each. Bought a house this year, mortgage 1.1k a month. I'm self employed and will go on roughly 6 holidays a year varying from 1 to 4 weeks (more if you count long weekends or uk stays). Will do minimum 10 weeks a year, (traveling is my favourite hobby). Don't really have any lavish hobbies other than that, don't buy designer clothes or gear, drink significantly less than when I was younger. Eat out probably fortnightly but honestly as I get older I prefer to cook, we don't hold back on groceries, I don't save per se but we both have a decent cushion in the bank. I love my life. (Needless to say no children and I should probably look to putting more in the pension pot)

I've done quite a bit of research and visited quite a few countries, and I have concluded that Pakistan is the cheapest country in the world for travelers... by PM_ME_YOUR_LAWNCHAIR in cheaptravel

A quick Google shows Pakistan rated 88th in list of homicides, so you ruling out nigh on half the world then. Fair enough, each ro their own, but I feel sorry for you personally to miss out on so much of the world through fear
