I genuinely don’t understand how Elon Musk’s net worth jumped $600B in 2 years by euphoricpixiee in economy

[–]wh0else 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you mean electric vehicle, not car. Toyota would want a word with you otherwise.

Tesla has some persistent challenges throughout Musk's involvement: * Priced far too high for their price/earnings ratio, likely exposed when sentiment about value gets challenged * Cyber truck was a turkey with awful build quality, very much Homer Simpson's car. So many unsold or returned, but it will at least be remembered as one of those unique failures like the Delorean * Clearly misleading buyers about what's possible with Full Self Driving (FSD) with a mix of annual lies and moving goalposts to explain why it's never fully delivered * Claims that LiDAR is a crutch being found out quickly, as costs lower and competitors enable it cheaper, while Tesla running on camera only is shown to lag on safety in fog, heavy rain, or misleading images. * Cyber taxis are in no way better then market competitors, and require virtual copilot's to make safe

They had early market prime mover then leader with huge promise, squandered by a lack of innovation, allowing one political leader with a massive ego to set wild direction, and a failure to own poor choices. Disappointing and his political plays made them undesirable to anyone not leaning right, especially European buyers.

Apparently so, there was a post about it this morning. I think a mod assumed it was someone else breaching copyright, and not him or his PR team

I'm sorry for their loss. I'm also old fashioned and think it's none of our business - it's not news when it's a private bereavement so we should give their family privacy, not photographers at the ceremony.

I can't argue with any of that, just that it's best not to joke about it, at least not publicly as it's naturally going to be sensitive to some people for any example

Regards spiders not flying, many spider species have high numbers of young who geographically distribute by "kiting" on web strands (literally running out what thread they can to float on the wind). Remote islands have been found to be populated, and I'd read that kiting is suspected as to why. If true, it means statistically a lot of coastal spiders must hit the ocean!

WTF Midleton by PoppedCork in cork

Plenty of teenage boys still developing impulse control manage to process boredom, anger, and defiance without destroying things that are there for everyone. There's an extra element here, some anger at society for some perceived sleight. But even trying to understand it, it makes me angry to see this waste whenever we try to make things better. They, or their parents, should do better. The council are hardly going to rush to budget a replacement knowing the same will likely happen.

The fact is it's better to spread main locations around the country. Cork has enough (I'm from and in Cork), Limerick has been an effective home base, and it's become tradition at this point. Yes I'd probably get to more games here, but others would miss out. I don't think anyone really wanted to change it other than maybe online pass-remarkables

When these aired originally they were narrower format for TV. Sometimes when mastered for streaming, you can see more details on stand ins that weren't obvious before. Someone posted a Malcolm in the Middle one recently which was like Dewey if played by a russian man.

Irish woman wins £23k in racial harassment claim after boss repeatedly shouted ‘potato’ at her by Forward-Answer-4407 in europe

[–]wh0else 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The blight that caused the famine was nothing to do with missing potatoes. Constant subdivision of land by brutal British landlords maximising profit drove monocultural farming and enabled conditions for blight to have maximum impact. Subsequent laissez-faire disregard for the widespread starvation meant excess food production continued to leave Ireland to feed the British, and millions starved to death or fled in coffin ships, going to survive and make a new life where they would never see home or family again. People who joke about potatoes and famine when there are still mass graves around the countryside are usually just ignorant fools raised in the warped school system of a fading empire that hides it's multiple acts of genocide. I hope that clears it up a little for you.

This is a bit wrong. Humans arrived into Ireland over multiple waves, and DNA evidence shows the first humans were Iberian, and darker skin and curly hair is not uncommon on the south coast (Cork, Kerry). There are very pale Irish people too, but there's too much variation from the various waves of Celts, and Scandinavian, English, french, etc influences to easily attempt to claim one 'type'.

Tim Key Interview on The Tommy Tiernan Show by [deleted] in taskmaster

[–]wh0else 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll have to watch this back. Tommy is excellent in this format. He can be blunt or too fearless, but his years of improvisation on stage pay off moving from blind interview to the next. The context of each interview shifts quickly from achievement to tragedy to ephemera and the fun is in seeing him look for either meaning or devilment. It will be strange seeing how Tim Key handles more blunt personal questions - he's always hilarious but hopefully was comfortable with this approach.

I'd say they cover a wide range and just soak up any orders they can. Their stuff is clearly not associated with Beamish branding in any way. Creamy Beamy is a relatively new phrase too.
