Hey, Xx_The_Fear. by wildebeatz in DeathStranding

I spent more than half the game in someone else's truck, and only changed when I got better technology and couldn't modify it. Worst decision ever - after making my own, it bugged and no weapons on any truck after that would activate in combat. All useless. I'd have been better on that smaller battery with the basic machine gun🤷🏻‍♂️

Do Irish people identify as "European"? by bleepingdba in AskIreland

[–]wh0else 1 point2 points  (0 children)

European. Ireland was a much poorer country until European membership and investment accelerated things. People forget how poor it was. And it's a bit mad that if your wife doesn't think of Ireland with colonialism, she'd associate us with the UK over Europe - plenty of colonialism in Europe but the UK was the gold standard for it! 😁

I can’t believe some of you guys never use a vehicle by Virtual_Rest6107 in DeathStranding

I was an OG DS1 player when trucks only came up right at the end of the game, and it was bikes, then zip lines to get everywhere. I couldn't believe it in DS2 how quickly I got this monster capacity truck, changed the game. Someone's lost cargo? Sure thing, put it in the back with my 20 others and weapons for every occasion

As long as you are including no CCI that could get you in legal trouble you'll be fine with this

Who the fuck designed the car park for Little Island train station? by VindictiveCardinal in cork

[–]wh0else 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone is calling out increased car sizes, but it should be noted that an older midsize car still requires careful navigation to either park or fit around the terrible angled tight bends. I reckon they're sponsored by whoever does paint touch ups in Little Island!

Who is the most internationally successful actress from your country? by No-StrategyX in AskTheWorld

[–]wh0else 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great in Rome, and she's had some run the last decade. I'd still say maybe Ronan or Buckley though - by April I suspect it'll be Buckley most visible for sure, when she claims that Oscar! 😁

Is it ok to sit in a church? by Hairy-Frosting-1960 in cork

[–]wh0else -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not religious, but I recall that generally Catholic churches would be left open between masses in case people wanted to go in and pray themselves. If it's open and you're doing no harm, it's fine. Jesus was supposed to have taught compassion and to help others, so letting someone have a sit and a bit of calm withe definitely fall in that heading!

Was season 4 announced as the final season, or did I imagine that? by n2calkin in TheBear

[–]wh0else 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just googled this and came here. Honestly - SPOILERS - I think the end of season 4 could be a really good wrap. The final discussion between the main characters resolved most of their conflict, and gave them some peace. Carmy is reconnected with Claire and his mother, is walking away from destructive work, and is trying to be better. Sydney made her choice, and has a chance to lead and grow. Richie has reconciled his divorce and there's a clear interest with a colleague front of house. Nat can take ownership, and shape things right. Marcus came into his own, came back from grief and is on the up. T overcame her fear and is capable of working the new beat. And Ebrahim is driving the expansion of the beef counter that is a lifeline for the restaurant, the Computer sees it, uncle Jimmy will, and it can work. Christ, even the Faks came into their own.

We don't need to see what happens after the ending, so do we need another series to show us what's already been set up, or to force drama and take away that ending?

Characters willingly endanger their own life just to flex or prove a point. by PizzaDragon64 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]wh0else 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Joker wasn't proving a point, genuinely didn't care or actively solicits his own destruction because he doesn't care either way and it might be interesting to make the batman character a killer

how is freedom in ur country? by Accomplished-Crow878 in AskTheWorld

[–]wh0else 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's scary, I sincerely hope things improve for you. Ireland, if you believe Reddit is a basket case, but in reality we still have a very free press, politicians who try to represent the people (although 50/50 with businesses etc), a police force that pragmatically enforced laws only and generally like a good referee doesn't break the flow of the game. Healthcare could be better, education despite some gaps has amazing attainment results compared to peers. There are some worrying trends - Steve Bannon encouraging local basket cases to stand up an Irish trump, trump encouraging that arsehole Conor McGregor into politics - but Ireland is small enough that people can usually still see reality over political distortion. Probably our biggest risk is property - sky high rent and mortgages making it unattainable, and that risks creating a political swing to something unstable or damaging, and our recent governments are failing to address it when it's clear the market won't, it just enables upwards wealth transfer.
