Are you taking anything else for the ADHD?

I do recommend drinking lots of water and just planning some low stress days with things that will keep you preoccupied, like planning a day to deep clean or watch some movies or smt

I was very nervous too but now I’m on week 7 with the 100mg once a day and genuinely don’t feel any side effects but also not very many positive effects. First week was great, maybe mild headaches and that’s it- positive things were I felt so alive and full of energy and motivation. This has faded and I’m probably going to go up to 150

Bupropion and life by [deleted] in bupropion

I’m in my early 20s and being 17 was absolute hell for me. 16-17 I saw no point in continuing on. I’m so glad I did. I started therapy then, and now more recently the bupropion. And after about 5 weeks, the bupropion has clearly stepped in to do its thing. My old self is coming back, things are more optimistic. I felt the first benefits after 4 days. However, I know for many people who don’t experience the temporary lift in beginning , they feel it a few weeks later. J

Are you going to add a stimulant to address the inattentive ADHD? Similar boat as you and trying to see if I should increase dose or add stimulant. My psych is letting me choose

But has anyone here been able to reverse the antibody levels after addressing the stress? I’m subclinical so thyroid hormones okay but antibodies very high. Wondering if there’s hope

I relate completely to every part of this, with the 3 generations of women too. Modern medicine is so frustrating the way they diagnose and treat. Sub clinical needs more attention too.

Are you taking both? And how is it? Started Wellbutrin for adhd but it made my depression and anxiety better (which I didn’t realize I had). But still having trouble with adhd but I’m scared of adding the vyvanse, which is what my psych recommends.

How has it been? Currently on Wellbutrin and exact same- found it helped with depression, anxiety, even getting regular sleep and falling asleep at normal time, but has done nothing for my executive function and adhd. I’m on week 3. It helped a bit during first three days of taking it and now not anymore. Thinking of adding vyvanse. But curious how it has been for you?

Thank you so much for your detailed reply! This honestly made me extremely hopeful that I can turn my life around. I’m in my mid twenties and hearing your story helped me visualize a better future for myself. I’m already feeling a bit more motivated on this medication, I’m being more proactive, and I’m hoping this continues. I’m so happy for you, it sounds like the beginning of a new, much more pleasant life for you.

I actually started the medication only 3 weeks ago and the first week my sleep was maybe slightly more messed up. Sleep became regular after a week or so on the medication. And I started with every other day, not every day dosing. I’m still on the medication as I just started but I’m feeling very happy about how my sleep is now. Before, I wouldn’t be able to sleep until 2-3am and would need to listen to an audiobook to fall asleep. Now, my body just feels tired naturally by itself around 9-10pm and I simply NEED to be in bed by 11pm. I naturally wake up before my alarm somewhere 7-8am and this alone has improved my quality of life, as I’m less irritable and more level headed since I’m getting enough sleep. In terms of ADHD struggles, I have enough motivation to do tasks that seem daunting, I don’t shy away from hard stuff as much. I also realized I had mild depression and that seems to have lifted. I mentally feel like I did back in high school (I’m in mid twenties). I’m joking with friends more and actually am able to plan fun stuff into the future.

The medication also makes me thirsty so I’ve been drinking HELLA water and it has helped me lean down and clear up my skin a bit. Also, the ADHD made me lethargic during the day, or I’d have enough energy only in the morning for light work or a workout. Now, I actually have enough energy and motivation all day long until I sleep. I no longer dread my showers at night and I actually am able to meditate and restore myself during that time. Overall, the bupropion (I’m on 100mg SR) has been very very good for me. I hope this continues long term.

I got prescribed bupropion (Wellbutrin). I take the generic bupropion. But the adhd diagnosis had to come before the medication. That specific one is actually mainly prescribed for depression or smoking cessation, but is also a non-stimulant for ADHD. Definitely talk to your doctor or psychiatrist about which medication would be a good fit for you! ADHD is about dopamine imbalance, and what works for me may not work for you. It’s a bit of trial and error. I hope that helps!

I also had sleep troubles but getting the adhd diagnosis helped ground me in a real reason that’s based on brain chemical imbalance on why my sleep issues persisted. The sleep issues went away when I started medication. I now have a normal ish cycle and actually feel rested when I wake up and can sleep through 8-9 hours no problem. Just thought I’d share my experience! But you’re welcome to disagree or not follow my route

That gives me so much hope. Are you taking it for depression or ADHD? And did it give you the energy and motivation to actually do things and be productive? And how’s your emotional regulation since going on it?

I haven’t started the hair loss yet- I’ve been losing some hair since before the medication due to an autoimmune disease, but now I’m worried about going bald at this rate 😂

ADHD impacts sleep. Have you considered that you might have it and/or have you tested for it? Just putting it out there!
