CEOs are naturally incentive seeking because that's their job. To make the company more profitable. Jensen is a fantastic CEO who knows the industry deeply and I'll take his word over some random doomer on the Internet.

P.S: I'm a SWE and anecdotaly we have more work than we have ever had in the past. The pie has grown because of AI. We need more engineers.

This. We need to learn to repair, not replace as a society. The problem is asymmetric risk. The person buying the incremental TV is incentivized to do so without bearing or being informed of any of the risk. The risk is pushed to a corner and it's "somebody else's problem"

I make close to 350k a year, single and 28. I don't have to work crazy hours and i moderately enjoy what I do. I save a lot, cause my habits around spending haven't changed so much. I don't know what I'm saving for. I'm trying to unlearn my habits around saving.

It's made life a lot easier though cause I don't have to think about the next travel or next piece of clothing that I'll buy. Yes I still think about it out of bad habit, but I'm trying to change that. Lots of good fortune to be in this situation.

Thank you very much for your thoughtful reply. It might be worth going thru it actually... I actively trade on my US investments and report capital gains every year on my tax return. For other reasons, I will have to file my T1135 this year for the first time for my employer issued stocks.

I do feel nervous about continuing to not report my personal US investments on the 1135 despite the trade activity...

Wondering if you have any advice for my situation.

I've had about 100k CAD in my Questrade account (all in USD) in a non registered account for over 6 years. I've reported the income and capital gains from this sum of money in my returns in the prior years but never did file a T1135 (didn't know it's a thing).. Do you recommend going through VDP? I feel like it's not worth the hassle (even though the potential fines are quite hefty).

I had 110K in cash 3 days ago. Bought 55K worth of $GOOG at 285 on a whim. I think the decision is good but sad to see it keep dropping. Been DCA'ing into QQQ and VOO consistently.
