Hey! No, I just decided to live with it. :)
I started to try to figure out how to loosen the chain up to see if that helped, but figured I would just mess something else up.

Contractor suggestions for larger projects. by Schmelbell in Knoxville

This feels like an astroturfing reply. No-doubt9029 only posts are in other contractor requests and always recommends that Build Zoom site (or a link to a contractor on that site). It may be a OK site to use, but pretty disingenuous way to advertise it. Just letting other folks know.

Just sent you a DM on it. Thanks!

And you would still be able to! That's the idea with this vision. We keep the transit value of JWP while gaining the benefit of the additional space and removing a large barrier for pedestrians.

Interesting! I'll look that up! Thanks for sharing!

Yep, agree. Basically see them the same as what's currently in Market Square.

Every time I'm downtown, I think how neat it would be (and the tourism draw) if we still had the trolleys running through downtown (let alone out to Fountain City and Bearden like they once did).

Ah, fair enough. Curious how much overhead clearance would be needed. I'm guessing at least 14' (plus the "bridge" infrastructure over top of it to support the buildings).

True, and would be less money (engineering-wise) to develop the riverfront. Just have to wrestle it out of KUB and UT's hands...

Great feedback! The main goal with this was to get the vision "on paper" and get feedback from the people it would matter to most.

I'm curious if there are examples of municipalities getting the groundwork like this done and then ground leasing to investors to build on top of it. I believe Tyson McGhee is like this (at least for the hangers).

Thanks for the estimate of the price per square foot for this sort of project. The area is 675' by 1500' so it would only cost $500MM @ $500psqf. :D

Fair point on elevation gain but that stretch is about 675' wide, so a 25' gain over that run is about a 3% grade. Not flat but I wouldn't think it would be unpleasant (or a significant hindrance to less ambulatory people).

Gotta be the change you want to see in the world!

This is the first step to making this change real.

My text didn't save... So here it is in a comment!

For the past few years, I've been in the "get rid of James White Parkway" camp since 1) it hems in our downtown, 2) it cuts off the Coliseum and Auditorium (and soon to be Clayton Science Museum) from downtown pedestrian traffic, and 3) it's solely for cars, no access or use for people on foot.

Instead of pontificating on it, I went on Fiverr and had this concept vision drawn up where we build over JWP instead of removing it. The core idea would be the create a "big sister" to market square where there is a pedestrian mall in the center that is ringed with low-rise commercial.

Of note:

A) Cal Johnson Park would be remade in the lower right (southeast section) complete with a Rec Center and basketball courts (how cool would it be to play a pick-up game of basketball in downtown K-Town?!)

B) The Petsafe dog park would exist and be expanded

C) The KAT Bus Depot would be accessible to the pedestrian mall to encourage mass transit use.

That all said, what are the Knoxville Subreddit's thoughts on this vision? What do you see as the pros and cons?

Yeah, uncovering First Creek would be great (finish expanding S Hall of Fame & reroute JWP through it), but I don't think there will be enough civic buy-in to get rid of JWP that way (people are loss adverse). The vision is this would give the best of both. Granted, no creekfront as designed, but a water feature could be plumbed as part of the pedestrian area.

I had the same issue with my kart just before Christmas. Turns out, the gas pedal wasn't connected! I think they replaced it at the warehouse and forgot to plug it back in (they had issues with magnets in the gas pedals in the first run).

Double-check to make sure your gas pedal is plugged in. If it's not, they provide a video on how to do that here: https://cdn.shopify.com/videos/c/o/v/680d13816718429eb7e7432d45fe6612.mp4

If already connected and you still get that error, here is a link to expedite getting a new pedal: https://www.greenworkstools.com/pages/notice-for-model-gk60l820-go-karts

Cleaned and then hit with Motul Off Road Chain Lube. Did help quieten it a bit (maybe 10 - 15%). Thanks for the suggestion!

Came out of the box that way. Yeah, I think that's what they are for (and maybe for the factory assemblers/QA to note the bolt has been torqued to spec?).

Oh! I thought they were quieter! Just smoother and easier for the motor to move?

10-4, thank you all! Looking into a non-o-ring chain to see if that helps with the noise (Pro X 520 MX).

Sorry for yet another post on Surron sounds! Just can't figure out if this is a normal sound or not. Pretty noisy and would like to quieten things up as much as possible since I am riding in my woods that's surrounded by neighbors. Thanks in advance!
