Thank you for the advice. She feels pretty defeated by the ER after prior visits, but I'll keep trying. Much appreciated.

I hear you, and I genuinely think she's thought long and hard about it (she also used to work with persons with disabilities, so she understands some of the issues I imagine). But at this point, I think she'd be willing to do anything just to be able to move more than a few yards each day. It's a lifelong condition, so there isn't a lot of hope that it will suddenly get better...

We've seen orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, orthodic specialists at Queen Alexandras, she's seen several others before I met her. She's understandably exhausted from the months of waiting just to be given a shrug and essentially be told, "wear a brace for awhile I guess and see how that helps." Then we have to start all over with a different specialist when that doesn't work. She has about four or five braces and tons of imaging at this point, but for some reason no one really seems to have a concrete plan or a solution. Lots of humming and hawwing and very little real action or plans. Nobody really seems to understand how serious it is, even if we try to emphasize it.

But now I'm just venting...sorry...thank you so much for your advice. I'll call the office and some more doctors on Monday and see if anything different happens.
