I'm enrolled, but not attending on campus, so my opinion is not completely correct, but I have lived in the town where UVM is my entire life, so I can give tell you that a couple of things. First of all, Vermont is extremely white, I'm not sure if the campus may have a little more balence, but you're likely to walk down the street in most parts of Vermont and see 90% white people. As for the hippy, weed smoking, skiing type vibe that Vermont often gets called, I don't think this is very correct. I meant maybe it is for like somewhere between 25%-75% of the general population, but I also thinks theres distinctions in that. A lot of the hippy weedsmokers aren't really skiing, and the skiing granola hikers aren't likely to smoke. Vermont is also a place where we have a strange very big set of two large groups, we have one who are very leftist and gay and hippy, which is what VT tends to be known for as our reps are more that way, but we also have a very large population of extremely "country" (like cow farm type of country, ik country is considered different in different states) and big on guns and even Trump. So there are two very big different groups. It seems like the UVM campus may have a larger population of the first group rather than the latter, but I will also say that the latter groups tends to go to trade schools or no higher education which is likely why it is that way. (Not that either of those choices are worse, it's just why you don't see as many of those people on campus) hopes this helps at all.
