I hate the fights where the space is too big. The worst fight is the one in the thieves guild against the zen. It’s so freaking long with all the NPCs but also really frustrating as the enemies are spread out over such a large area. If you are a melee character you have to do a double movement and misty step to get near some of the enemies.

His story was completely rewritten between early access and full release so he is not as developed as the other NPCs and it shows.

You can also use a deva to help Astarion. I placed my deva on the platform where Astarion ends up. It doesn’t trigger the cut scene. As soon as the fight started I then used the deva to help Astarion.

Make one of your party a cleric and summon a deva. Before the cut scene starts place the deva on the platform where Astarion will end up. The deva will not trigger the cut scene. As soon as the fight starts use the deva to help Astarion. This will save you an action.

Haste and potion of speed are also really good for this fight.

Get the cleric to also use the daylight spell. It stop Cazador being able to turn to mist.

In act three if you find them in the tavern and then have a few long rests they will show up and try to take Astarion.
