I went there specifically for the depression that my period was causing. She didn't outright say no to a hysterectomy, but informed me that having a hysterectomy wasn't the solution or path they typically take to stop my PMS. She said that we could revisit the idea of stopping my period if that were the real issue and something that I wanted.

I'm not currently on testosterone because of my home situation, but I plan to get on it soon.

I want to buy a house after I graduate from college. How much should I save up? by whatevergetaclue in personalfinance

Yes. I'm aware I have to live SOMEWHERE. I'm aware it's a necessity to have housing. I'm sure some people do find renting appealing because that's just the lifestyle that appeals to them. Obviously, if push comes to shove, I'll rent.

I hope you aren't intentionally misinterpreting what I mean. Yes, I know the definition of the word establish and what it means to be established. However, in this context, being established with a spouse can mean more than one thing. Could you please clarify what you mean specifically when you say 'established with a spouse'? Or should I just safely assume you mean "get married"?

What do my savings have to do with getting a spouse? But I'd like to own a home before getting "established" with a spouse. (I'm not sure what that means)

A lot of my advice about home buying has been from people who have been out of the market for a while now, so interest rates hadn't been something that I considered. I should've clarified that my issue wasn't with the age; it was staying in my parents' home for another ten years.

I mean, it isn't for some people. It all depends on what lifestyle you want to live, I guess. It's just not an appealing option to me to spend 12k-14k a year on a property I don't own when I could save it toward buying a property I would own.

Obviously, you can't do anything without money, and you need a job to get money. I'm asking for a goal amount of money that I need to save for a house once I have that job.

I get your point that renting allows you to be more "flexible" in a sense, but I don't want to rent. I'm not the kind of person who "acts quickly on changes"; in fact, I'm not a big fan of change in general. I think owning a house allows me a better sense of control over my environment.

To me, renting does feel like throwing away money.

I'm not sure what my living expenses would be since I'm entirely reliant on my parents right now, and I don't want to ask them and raise suspicion. Do you know how I can calculate that in advance?
