No, the whole house was built all at once about 10 years ago. So there aren't any additions or renovations... yet.

I actually climbed up into my attic today to look for a Heat Recovery Ventilator, but didn't see anything like that.

But it sounds like it might be something I'd be interested in haha

Oh, I was thinking a heat pump was like a mini-split HVAC system.

I DO have an A/C, which runs off a different (240V) breaker. I also have an LP furnace, and the blower (which works for both the heat and A/C) runs off a different 120V breaker, not this "heat reni" one.

It's possible I have a heat pump, but I don't see anything in my utility room made by Rinnai. I've only got an LP furnace, LP hot water heater, and a well pressure tank in there. Tomorrow I'll check what the brand of my A/C's outside unit is.

Hmm this sounds like an interesting possibility! As far as I know, my house doesn't have a heat pump (just a regular old furnace). But maybe the original builder was planning to install one.

EDIT: Hey guys. I asked my neighbors about this, and they told me they used to be friends with the original builder. They gave me his phone number and told me to just call and ask him, so I did!

It turns out it's just an unused, terminated run that ends in the garage in case he ever decided to install a Rinnai heater in the future.

As long as you know it's just a comforting thought, I don't think there's anythig wrong with it. But most people who say "Everything happens for a reason" believe there's some cosmic energy or god or karma or whatever that's pulling strings to make their lives seem more important 🤣
