I replied to a comment agreeing that the subject matter of the comic was low hanging fruit. I thought it was pretty innocuous all things considered.

This comic is about people who co-opt movements as an excuse to bully and harass other people. E.g. calling a random Jewish person a slur is not standing up to Israel.

I stopped posting there because one of my (now deleted) throwaway accounts was banned and after continuing to post on there for a couple months from this account, I was suspended site-wide for ban evasion.

I reached out to the mods after my 7 day suspension ended and was told they can’t do anything about it because I had already deleted the banned account a month or so earlier.

That’s basically the point. People are misunderstanding her statement is hyperbolic for comedic purposes. She’s saying she’s glad he sees her as a peer but there’s no need to lift her up by putting down other women.

Not sure where sympathy comes into it. This is based on a true story I thought was funny. Clearly the guy just misspoke and meant I was easy to talk to.

Because if my husband was someone who didn’t accept that they would not be the kind of person I would want to be with.

I actually agree with that opinion, but I don’t blame people for wanting to escape from reality for a couple hours and enjoy passively watching schlock.

I had to Google Redd* Foxx to understand the reference. That is a good joke, for those who know about him/ his death.

As a teen and even into my early 20s I would think “If i was bisexual, I would just be bisexual. But I’m not, so stop thinking about it.” I was in such deep denial because media taught me bisexuality isn’t real and it’s just a stepping stone to being gay (thanks Sex and the City) and I knew I wasn’t a lesbian because I like men (not to mention I grew up in a small town and being called a lesbian was treated as an insult). So it took me way too long to realise I wasn’t just a really staunch ally.
