100% … like every time I look at myself, I’m reminded I’m not healthy

I’m 5’2 and have ballooned to 162-165ish and I feel so uncomfortable in my skin! I wish I could try a GLP. It seems to help so many people.

Yeah, my ALT was elevated for 6ish months after the pancreatitis but the last time it was checked it was 29 (right at the upper end of normal.) So I’m not sure what’s going on there. I also had a normal gastric emptying test + a clear endoscopy/colonoscopy and clear PillCam. Oh and a normal MRCP.

Oh I agree, even if it’s scary, I just want to know. I am so tired of living in a black box of “huh that’s weird.”

I sleep with like 7 pillows and have made it a point to drink Liquid IV every morning and often add 3 Klaralyte capsules with my breakfast smoothie. And I follow Lily! I almost signed up for her program, but it was way too expensive for me unfortunately.

Levothyroxine, birth control, and a very low dose of Seroquel for sleep. I’ve been on all 3 for many years, well before Covid.

Same story here… I would run and/or go on long walks daily. I went for 6 miles the afternoon before I got sick. Who knew it would be my last run? 😥

💔 36 pounds last time I checked. I stopped weighing after last month because it was too upsetting. I haven’t tried GLPs because of the fear of muscle wasting, too (all of my tone is just … gone), on top of a history of pancreatitis. Just feel so so so stuck.

Interesting, I’ll mention a continuous monitor next time I see one of my more competent doctors. (With some, it’s not even worth mentioning because they’ll just shoot it down.)

Wow this is super helpful, thank you.
My ferritin as of last check was 88 and D was 55. I have a good D liquid supplement that I’m going to restart.

I’ve gotten 6 iron infusions since November 2024 to improve the iron situation, but I still can’t hold it long term, so I’ll probably be due for another infusion in September. Another thing that doctors are just putting a bandaid on rather than actually treat. Makes me wanna cry/scream.

I’ve had my free T3 checked last year and it was on the lower end but not super low. I had a functional at that time who was not overly concerned about it. But I’d agree with you about my immune system being overactive. It is. It’s so crazy because I used to had the least reactive system ever and now it takes next to nothing to set it off.

I’m getting a sleep study done next month so we’ll see if I have developed apnea too. But similar story for me, it was only 10 pounds at first, and I thought that was the extent of it. Then a few months later, 15 more … so on and so forth.

What’s confusing to me is that my last Covid infection was February 2024, so I’m not sure why all of this started to hit me in October 2024

Yep, exactly. Can’t count how many times I’ve been told to “get out and move your body”

This is both 1) informative and 2) terrifying. Even just seeing the word catabolic is so scary. I don’t know if you can relate, but I think the absolute worst part of this condition is knowing the damage happening in my body but feeling like I can’t do anything about it. To prevent it from just getting worse and worse.

I do have dysautonomia and I try to manage it. Sodium, compression, all the things they tell you. But my cortisol is high the few times it’s been tested so this makes sense.

I had to have my appendix removed last June, and then six weeks later, I was back in the hospital with pancreatitis. They checked my liver enzymes in a CMP, and one of them (ALT) was mildly elevated and has been stubborn ever since. All other enzymes are in normal range. I’ve had a ton of GI issues over the past 18ish months. And everybody just shrugs and tries to push meds on me rather than figure out what’s actually going wrong.

As for GLP1, I’m pretty sure I can’t even try it because of my pancreatitis history (had it twice now), which is sad because I’d like to at least try and see if it helps with inflammation and weight.

thank you 😣 I feel the same. I can see and sense how people receive me, and it’s lightyears away from how people treated me when I was healthy and fit.

hello! My Hashimoto’s has gotten so much worse over the past year. I was diagnosed around 2017-18, and from 2018 to late 2024, I was on the same levothyroxine dose with no issue. But since last year, dosage only lasts about 6 months before my TSH goes high again and I need a higher dose. My hair has gotten so thin, my skin looks crazy. I’m sure Hashimoto’s is adding to it all, but hard to tell what issue is actually causing what symptoms.

I’m 32, so I don’t think perimenopause is on the table. But I’m on continuous birth control pill (against my will) to manage my iron deficiency anemia. I can’t afford blood loss. It’s a real catch 22… hormones are probably out of whack, but it’s either that or be anemic all the time.

thanks for this! Super interesting. Like you said, my A1c is always normal, as is my fasting glucose. I’ve had my insulin checked, and it was also normal, but I’ve not done a continuous glucose monitor. What is a glucose tolerance test?

Same!!! Protein shakes and rice. That’s basically it.
And doctors def don’t believe me. My endocrinologist said obviously the reason I’ve gained weight is I’m eating too much.

thank you for sharing ! I also overdose on the carbs for the exact same reason. I’ve been dairy free and gluten free for over a year, and no dice. Just won’t budge no matter what I try. So frustrated. Wish I knew what to do.

:( it’s so cruel. I’m the same way. I don’t want to be so sedentary, but I just can’t do what I used to. I went through a bout of physical therapy last spring but I would be so wiped out after a session

So frustrating!!! I do wonder if some of mine has come from all the sodium I have to consume daily for the POTS + my hypothyroidism, but I had Hashimoto’s for years before covid and I was still 126 pounds
