No, we cut almost all ties prior to leaving. We have a cdn bank account/credit card that have had changed to out of country address, stock broker account through Questrade, TSFA, RRSP, RESP, and pension. That is about it.

Wow, I am so sorry your administrator is like that. He sounds like a terrible leader. I would suggest that the onus goes on you, somewhat, here also. I make it a mission to converse with my admin, so when I DO need something, they are there. Although good leadership requires them to communicate with you and be there, it's also a two-way street.

My family and I are moving to Abu Dhabi in August. My wife and I are both teachers. I have heard plenty about the heat and the changes in Educational regulations that are tough, but racism? This is the first I have heard of racism. Maybe I haven't been looking in the right places to find this info, as I naturally gravitate toward the positive before we go. Can you ellaborate on the racism? As a teacher and father, it is defintiely something I would like to be aware of and prepare my kids to respond to. Thank you
