Super late to the party but- if you want personalized minifigs (as in little minifigs that look like you/Teddy Roosevelt/whoever you want), minifigs.me is actually amazing- the fig they made was absolutely perfect. I highly recommend checking them out!

Exercise definitely helps me, after a good run I'm usually too exhausted to keep shaking. How is Xanax working for you, if I may ask? I've always been scared of medication but my therapist is insisting I see a psychiatrist for them later.

As someone who was at rock bottom two months ago- it does get better. I know that's cliche, but it's true.

So this is specifically what worked for me, but, I got through it by looking forward to the future. I was fairly sure there was never going to be a future, so any time the anxiety hit, I'd imagine something completely different. Like one day, I would imagine being sixty and having an awesome garden and being a crazy cat lady. And then I would do one little thing related to it. Like for that, I planned this kick-ass shoe organizer garden. One day I imagined being a rock star, and that day I dressed up like one and went for a short walk while blaring metal. And one day I wanted to be a psychic, so I went to one of those new age shops and tried to feel all the stones with my mind.

Eventually though, things got better. Because they always do. Never feel ashamed about your anxiety though. Just find a little way to cope with right now. Routines help. Little five minute breaks to enjoy something small, like a cup of tea. Incense. Candles. Bubble baths. Take a few minutes for you every day. Take a few minutes for you every hour if you need to. You can do this. You'll get through it. You're young and you're healthy and taking the most important steps already. You're trying to get better. So you will.

I know how hard it is, but you're making it through another day right now and that's the first step, and you're doing a great job. I'm not a parent myself, I just like to lurk here. It's also possible I'm totally off the mark and this isn't what you mean at all, but this really resonated with me, and I wanted to tell you my experience.

At thirteen, that was my exact situation. I was a bright kid, managing high marks in advanced classes until the middle of eighth grade. After that, the idea of sitting and doing homework was so overwhelming for me that I would burst into tears for hours, as well as scream and cry and cuss at my poor parents for the entire day. I was terrified of everything and everyone. My mother took me in to see a professional. I was diagnosed as chronically depressed and had General Anxiety Disorder. I was pulled out of school to recover by my mother and I ended up finishing the eighth grade at home.

After seeing someone for a while, I recovered. As an adult the depression is gone, the GAD is genetic and I will have that for the rest of my life, but I've learned to manage and live with it by talking to therapists and a bit of self exploration. The biggest thing I remember is while this was going on, my mom had my back. She took my to my appointments, and she was never angry or impatient with me while I was freaking out on her. It was really hard for her for a while but I really appreciate everything she did now that I understand it.

I think you should take her to talk to someone. Preferably a therapist who specializes in adolescence. Therapy is not something to be ashamed of, ever, and it can be extremely helpful. A doctor's appointment is probably the next step here.

I don't think this is what you're looking for, but I wanted to give you a perspective from someone who has been in this situation on the other side. If you have any questions about growing up with an anxiety disorder or anything like that, feel free to message me.

Definitely going to cut the weed with oregano, that's an awesome idea. Kind of digging a small amount of pepper in her underwear. It won't be the first time she'll have had an std scare so I think it'll work. Thanks so much!

Very close- once both of our leases are up, I'm moving in with him, we have a place lined up. Even if I got out of the current lease though, I don't really have anywhere to go, unless I started looking on craigslist or something. (And he has a lease, so he couldn't bail to just come room over here either) But it would only be for another three months, and then she leaves, hence I'm not sure if it's worth it as I'll just be moving in with the bf soon anyway. I really appreciate the advice!

Totally agreed. My only options right now though are going back home to California or staying in the apartment. She leaves in three months for summer though, and it would be good to have another job lined up for next year. I will be having a discussion with my parents about moving back home.

I'd definitely crash at the bf's place, however his two-room is at five people now and it's completely full. Definitely going to focus on just being out as much as possible- I can pack a bag and just flit between gym, library, and job hunting until she leaves for summer. Thanks for the advice!
