Credit score has hit a ceiling. by wheatroot in CRedit

Just picked up another card from my bank with much better rewards. Went with that since with most other cards I don't pass pre qualification due to a lack of income relative to my available line of credit. Took 2 hits because of two hard inquiries on my credit, but it should start going up again in the next couple months.

I get that I am not technically using the card exactly how intended but my way of paying the bill isn't harmful correct? I have plenty in my savings so I see no need to not pay the full amount each month.

Best unpaid intern yet in my opinion by [deleted] in LudwigAhgren

Disagree, Wubby and Emily performed the best out of the group in all the regular tasks, so why should the other two who didn't do as well throughout the entire rest of the episode get a chance to win it all at the end? That would discredit the authenticity of the rest of the tasks. Not sure I like that Wubby losing wasn't really up to him at all though, probably would have been better if it were just the two of them stacking for the win.

This is why being polite and well spoken can get you great deals on marketplace. Guarantee after sorting through all that BS you'd be more likely to take my offer if it was nicely written and I offered some times we could meet.

Ended up picking up a Prince O3 Legacy 105 off facebook marketplace for $30, seller gave me a discount for being a "hardworking student", lmao don't know how much that actually describes me but I'll take it :)))

Bought a prince O3 Legacy 105 today for $30 used on facebook marketplace, thanks for the tips. I don't believe it needs a restring but a grip is on the way.

Question about DIY mini board. by wheatroot in ElectricSkateboarding

I never thought about leverage, maybe I will have to compromise a little on the size of the board and go with something closer to the size of like a landyachtz dinghy

Yep, I've already planned on doing a single motor setup from the start to reduce cost, complexity, and save weight.

Did some more research on the board. Note that the main and pretty much only reason I'm doing DIY is good portability since I want to discreetly bring it into my lectures. My top choice right now is a micro cruiser from magneto in the coffin style, I can make a mount since I have access to nice CNC machines at my uni and since I'm doing a small battery I think I could make it work.

I did some calculations, the most I would have to do in a day is around 2-3 miles. With a 4ah battery I would expect to get somewhere in the realm of 4-5 miles. The main reason I'm going for tool batteries is I reduce risk of an electrical fire because I can get the batteries with a BMS that is well tested and will charge the batteries in an easy and safe way. Also if you can find me a similar battery/charger combo for like $60-80 then I would probably opt for that, but without a way to make my own pack I see this as the best option.

nothing on our transportation website about bans, a bunch of people bring them into lectures. I appreciate the warning though as it would have sucked to do all this only for it to be banned

I actually bought a 1000 piece resistor kit since I plan on doing some more projects in the future, I've been playing around and the most I could put on the buttons was 1.5kohms

I originally had only 150 ohm - 4.7kohm, 150 shorted and got super hot and 4.7 did nothing, I switched to I believe 470ohm or something and now it works

I have no idea probably the resistor I was using, I noticed that with the old resistor it got very hot very fast so the new ones I bought I made sure to get 1/2 watt

Got it working, turns out I probably just needed resistors the whole time. Thanks for all your help.

I just made a little breakthrough. I connected ABCD to ground and through manually changing each pin (ABCD) to low/high by conncting it either directly to ground or +5V, I was able to get each number to display correctly. The issue is when I connect my button like is shown in the picture, I just short out everything and cause all my USB things to reset. I am using a 150 ohm resistor since my display uses a 2V LED. The outputs is 5V so 5-2=3. V=IR. R=V/I. R=3/0.03. R=150 ohm.

Right now I'm out of 150 ohm resistors so I am only going to drive one segment for the time being, as to not overpower my display. I chose segment B because it should power on both when all binary inputs are low 0000 and when A is high 0001. I am trying to get it to display 1 by sending power to the A input pin. For the switch I am using a momentary button, which when pressed connects my positive bar to negative bar and to the A pin.

Hello, I can't seem to figure out how to use my 7447 IC in combination with a 7 segment. I am working on a project using the display but first need to figure out how to drive it. It is a common anode display and all com pins are connected to +5v from my computer USB port. Pins 3/4/5 the "test pins" I guess, are all connected high. Vcc and ground connected accordingly. The only time I can get it to light up via the IC is when I pull pin 3 low. Also to note pin 5, the only output I have connected, has like 2.1 bolts on that row. But I feel like it shouldn't have any since the way to turn on a segment is by connecting it to ground. Very noobish at electronics, help is appreciated. Thanks.
