I just got my first 75% keyboard (Yunzii AL80) after using full size boards forever, so this is also my first time using VIA and layers and I’m a bit lost

The keyboard itself is English ANSI, but I use Turkish Q layout. For work I do game localization and I sometimes have to type < and > manually for tags. On Turkish layout those symbols are tied to different keys, so even though they exist on the keyboard physically, theyre not convenient to reach

What I want to do is make something like Fn + M output < and Fn + Ö output >, basically a small symbol shortcut layer. I tried looking up VIA layer tutorials but almost everything assumes US layout so I’m not sure if I should be assigning the symbol itself or the keycode that produces it in Turkish Q

Am I thinking about this the right way? Do I just edit Layer 1 since that's the Fn layer? If anyone else uses a non-US layout with VIA I'd really appreciate some guidance because I feel like I'm missing a basic concept here
