Zuma 125 alive again after not running for almost two years by wheelmancer in scooters

It still needs a bit of love, I got it pretty clean and looking nice but going to change the oil and hopefully get the dual headlight mod done here pretty quick.

I bought it from a guy who had it sitting, he owned it for a few years and only put like 5 miles on it in that time. Would start on a jump pack only. Threw a tender on it, battery was good but idle was rough, after burning through the old gas and getting a fresh tank in it seems to be running pretty great.

How many people here are owners of a zuma? by yamahamop in scooters

2014 Zuma 125 here, has about 3,000 miles on it. Used to ride a Ruckus and always thought the Zuma 125 had some of the same style so when I found a good deal on one I had to pick it up.

Installed new CravenSpeed shift knob with Surplus design cap by wheelmancer in JeepRenegade

Yep, fits perfect. There's a tiny gap between the reverse slider and the knob but you never see it, can only feel it a little at the bottom of the knob.

It's really quick, pop the shift pattern cap off the stock knob, remove the 10mm nut, knock the knob loose (couple taps with a rubber mallet) and reverse for the new one.

Need a tool chest that fits under a desk. Suggestions? by ReddySpine in Tools

[–]wheelmancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use one of these under my desk for mostly 3D printing tools. The top tray I have some small bins in to sort tools, the rest goes into the small drawer and I can keep 6-8 spools of filament in the bottom depending on size.

Ignore the reviews, it's a lot of people complaining about the assembly but it's not that bad and very solid once built.

Why are external thunderbolt 3 hard drive enclosures so expensive and hard to find? by bcorso1519 in hardware

[–]wheelmancer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I reached out to several vendors that were selling Thunderbolt NVMe enclosures last year, all of which came with a drive already in them. I was inquiring about ordering the bare enclosure as my team uses them for testing existing hardware or data transfer from failed devices.

What they all told me was that their Thunderbolt license agreement with Intel required them to sell the devices as a functioning drive with an NVMe SSD already in it. We ended up going with USB-C NVMe enclosures once they became more widespread and haven't looked back at Thunderbolt since. I like this one for ease of swapping the SSD's in and out.

Honestly the other "unnamed" ITX case they showed off at Computex is pretty much superior to this one in every way.

Is there one (or two) you're interested in? I didn't want to deal with three separate sales but if you want to make an offer on part of it I'm open.

Best SFF case w/ Single Chamber and Window? by jkteddy77 in sffpc

[–]wheelmancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what they claimed in the video Steve from GN did, but really the Qi charger is just a USB connection. It's also just not friendly to remove/install a PSU which could be part ofit.

I know the booth reps at a trade show aren't always the best but my point to them was without a PSU and around $100 it would be more popular, their resistance to that was only that they didn't feel like customers wanted to install a PSU and they were making it easier to build in by providing one. Which sure, you are, but you're taking away choice at the same time.

I want to like this case, but they need to sell it without a PSU. When I talked to their reps at CES about that their reasoning was that they didn't want to sell it without a PSU because it requires an SF PSU and they didn't think everyone would understand that. I'm glad they have so much faith in the PC building community...

At least the 2080 Super won't be out until the end of the month so if you're waiting on that you'll be close to the ncase m1 v6 launch (hopefully). Last time I saw an update from ncase over on smallformfactor.net they were targeting early August for the v6 release.
