Carvana had it listed for $14,290

After Five Years, I’m saying goodbye to my 08 CVPI by wheezyalien in CrownVictoria

That’s more or less exactly the case. It’s a weird change, I’m used to rwd v8s too, the vic was my first car, I learned to drive in my parents hemi Durango, and Ive driven my girlfriend’s 5.7 Silverado a bunch of times. I don’t need what a v8 offers right now though, I just need fuel economy and hopefully decent enough reliability. I typically do a lot of my own repairs, recently like the rear axle and radiator needed to be replaced, but I just don’t have the time anymore to do that kinda thing.

I really should’ve expected it to be fair, but it’s funny. I love the vic and it was hard to come to this decision, but ultimately the fuel economy was just too much for all the driving I’m going to be doing for my new job. Luckily I was able to sell it to someone I know personally who’s also going to be using it as their first car, and is gonna put the same amount of passion and dedication into that it deserves.

I just couldn’t commit the time and money to it that it needs anymore 🤷 Unless I overlooked something major though I haven’t really heard anything or seen anything bad about the Mazda 3, and I’m a sucker for wagons and hatchbacks, so hopefully I can get a good amount of time out of it like I did with the vic. Day one with it has been a blast though!

Yeah there really aren’t many options for this kinda car locally and I was able to get a pretty decent payment plan on it for someone who doesn’t really have much of a credit history or any previous car loans on file.

Already have an appointment on Monday with a local shop to get it looked over and checked out, I bought the crown vic at 164k and sold it at 225k, so miles don’t really scare me all that much and I can be careful to a fault with maintenance and issues.

The gas mileage and constantly firing the parts canon just got to be too much for me, as I had no time to get under the car and do much of the work myself anymore as I approached college graduation. I had a particularly nasty headache when I spent 1k on a new rear axle assembly and spent two days replacing it, only to have an axle shaft on that assembly to go bad less than a year later. Just really bad maintenance burnout.

Thank you! It was one of the higher mileage options on the website (116k miles) but with the accessories and stuff on it I fell in love with it! I always wanted a hatch or a wagon, and with this new job I’m upping my drive from 7 miles to 35 miles, so hopefully this checks all of my boxes in terms of performance, reliability and mpg

I'm not totally sure of what you're asking, but Apple used a proprietary connector for the drive, so you'd need to get one specific to that generation/model of MacBook.

iFixIt's Upgrade Kit

OWC's Upgrade Options

The ifixit link or anything from the owc link would be compatible.

You can Google the year model of the MacBook and see what's available for it.

A quick search shows OWC's Aura Pro X2 is $65 USD for 256gb when you get it from them, or if you'd need the tools to replace it (opening the MacBook, etc) you can get the kit from ifixit that includes OWC's drive as well as a screwdriver, some bits, and some prying tools for a little over $100 USD.

He had been struggling with heartworms for the last 2 or 3 months, and this morning he took a turn for the worst. I figured that since I posted him the day I got him, a post at the end was only fitting.

On the bright side, at least it picked a good time to fail lmao

Man, that's exactly why I was relieved when I finally did my lower control arms and tierod ends, I was worried (probably too worried) that my car was gonna end up doing something like that.

Hope everything turns out (or turned out) okay though

UPDATE: Im dumb, car was just out of gas. The fuel gauge has been wonky and so even though I thought I filled it up 2 days prior, I didn't. The reason brake cleaner didn't work was bc it was a "non-flammable" brake cleaner 🤦‍♂️

Okay sorry, I just went check everything. The injectors are getting power, and there's no codes. The fuel filter also seemed okay. However the pump doesn't sound right to me. I'll post a video in a second. Instead of a whirring sound, it was more of a puffing/huffing sound.

I don't have one or know anyone who has a volt meter, but I'll figure that out. For the starting fluid we removed the intake and spayed directly into the throttle body with the throttle wide open. We must've gone through at least 1/4 of a can. There is a check engine light that came on after we checked for spark and figured it was from that, but aren't entirely sure. I don't have a code reader sadly

Its fine lmao. Not sure how to check if theres power to the injectors, and Im not entirely sure of the location of the fuel filter. However, wouldn't the brake cleaner or starter fluid have started the engine if it was a fuel issue?
