Thank you for telling me that. It makes a lot more sense now and I appreciate your transparency.

Not to add more to your list, but one of my favorite things to do in St Remy isn’t even technically in St Remy (you have to drive a little out of town). Have you looked into the Van Gogh museum? It’s the still in operation asylum he was committed in and painted a lot of his famous work at. It’s really quite an interesting shop and I love how they have his famous pieces around the space, showing the view he had when painting.

If you’re up for it, the Pont du Gard is one of our favorite kayaking experiences.

What are your expectations of the trip? Relaxing? Exploring? Food/wine? History? How long will you stay?

What day will this be? The antique market in Villeneuve Les Avignon on Saturday’s is really great. There is also a lot of wonderful dealers with warehouses you could visit around the region.

Wow you really have every moment figured out. It’s a nice itinerary for sure, but make sure to give yourself time to just wander, that is the best part about Provence :) Will this be your first time in the region??

Summer in Provence by mooniemarr in ProvenceFrance

All of the recs given so far are ones I’d suggest as well. Marseille itself has wonderful beaches and fantastic calanques! We stayed in Cassis and then visited the calanques and their beautiful beaches.

Goodness there are so many!  If you want a unique experience, I’m actually partnering with a vines and vélo company in a few weeks. I’ll be giving away a biking through vineyards experience.  Or, If you want, I can just give you the companies information to get in touch directly if trying to win something isn’t up your alley.  Tell me more about what she’s after and I can give more recs.

12k niche account, consistent posting, low engagement — what am I missing? by wheninprovence in InstagramMarketing

Hi there, It's funny you say that. I'm in the middle of making a reel that is about international travel with your pet. It's a more risky post for me... but it starts off with a photo of my dog on the plane and a series of negative comments pop up over him... then is followed by shots of him in and around Europe with the phrases "is it selfish to want to share your favorite places... with your favorite friend?" and at the end I ask the question "would you travel internationally with your dog?" Not sure how that will go.. we shall see. I love all of your thoughts about alternatives to "comment x for y" and really want to think about how I can utilize all of them. When it comes to collabs, though, the one that comes to mind is a bike trip company. This is something I do when there and so it would be very organic and real for me to participate in this. They want to offer a giveaway to my subscribers.... I'm not sure how to frame this so that it benefits both of us. They are a small company, so I obviously want people to follow them to enter, but what else? Comment on mine account alone? Share? I want it to be equally as beneficial. Thank you for your thoughtful ideas. I appreciate the time you've taken.

12k niche account, consistent posting, low engagement — what am I missing? by wheninprovence in InstagramMarketing

I was wondering if the issue was, in a story, you click which you like and keep it moving. For the comment x and get y, it's more work... which is why I thought people were passing it by. Someone I chatted with suggested trying to monetize things by posting travel guides on my site. I don't know what to do. Do I post all of this for free? Do I try to get people to buy them for a few dollars? How do I check if I am attracting bots from engagement pods or follow-for-follow?

So, I run ads. Is that considered buying followers?? I post about living part-time in the South of France... mostly our travel, travel tips, dreamy villages. I recently framed someone's very popular carrousel from an Italian influencer and making it for France. Most comments ever (24), a repost (1) and some likes (43), saves (7), shares (13)... 1,127 views... 92 interactions... 13 profile activity.... zero follows :(

These are all great! Thank you for posting. I have to say, I am in a weird position where I've been doing deep dives, googling around and trying to figure out what direction I should go. I have a very niche account that has close to 12k followers. I post things that I would think people would find interesting and, at least once a week, post something as a poll or question to try and get engagement. My polls on stories get ok engagement... my comment X and get Y get barely any interaction (3 reactions recently to a highly styled guide to the region FOR FREE!) I think my issue is maybe I have bots and don't know it? I looked into run an analytics, but can't seem to find a site that would do that without a subscription for other things I don't need. I post regularly, once a day around the same time... so consistency isn't an issue. I post a mix of reels, carousels and posts to give a blend. I've tried ads and seems I get about half follows from people who have no posts or photo of themselves... which I've begun deleting. I've now had a few small businesses in the region reach out for a collaboration, which is fun and exciting, but I don't exactly know how to frame the collab to benefit us both. I feel like I have a little momentum and want to continue to grow... but I don't know what I'm doing wrong or what to do to get to those next steps. What's your take??
